WELTY, JAMES H.

Former Resident Dies in Montana

James H. Welty, 57 years old, formerly of El Dorado, died Tuesday at his home near Saco , Mont. He was born on Sept. 21, 1869; near Terre Haute , Ind. and when a child he moved to Illinois with his parents, coming to Kansas in 1882.

He went to Montana in 1901, taking a claim near Saco a year later, when he had since resided. During the winter of 1918-1919, he visited here.

Mr. Welty is survived by one brother, I. E. Welty of De Graff; two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Tweedy of El Dorado and Mrs. C. H. Case; six nephews, five nieces, one grand-nephew and two grand-nieces.

Funeral services probably will be conducted Sunday at the Byrd Brothers Funeral Home, with burial in the Chelsea Cemetery.

Doornbos, Harry "Clair," 84, farmer, died Friday, May 30, 1997. Service 10 a.m. Monday, First United Methodist Church.

James Doornbos of Altus, Okla., Larry of El Dorado; daughters, Mary Young of Cassoday, Cheryl Juby of Casper, Wyo., Sharon Sammons of El Dorado; sisters, Cleta Milbourn of El Dorado, twin sister, Carol Corfman of Emporia; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. HAMILTON, MARGARET V.

Hamilton, Margaret V., 96, homemaker, died Saturday Nov. 6, 1999. Service 10:30 a.m. today, Johnson-Kunkel Mortaury.

Survivors: daughters, Lessley Sanders of Richmondville, N.Y., Juanita Jeffrey of Salina; sister, Irene Mariet of Davenport, Iowa; two half-brothers, Artur Ireland of Garnett, Raymond Ireland of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with Moran Christian Church.

MILBOURN, CARRIE LOU COOK

CARRIE LOU (COOK) MILBOURN, 84, of El Dorado, homemaker, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1987. Service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Carlson Funeral Home.

Survivors: husband, Homer; daughter, Mary Stackley, brother, Chelsea K. Cook, both of El Dorado; sisters, Elizabeth Wentling of Towanda, Linnereau Hudson of Salina, Doris Ellithrope of El Dorado; one grandchild. Memorial has been established with the Butler County 4-H Foundation.

MILBOURN, HOMER A.

Homer A. Milbourn, 90, rancher, died Friday, March 30, 1990. Service 10 a.m. Tuesday, Carlson Funeral Home.

Survivors: daughter, Mary Stackley, grandson, David Stackley, both of El Dorado. Memorials have been established with Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital and Bradford Memorial Library.
