A wedding which will be a surprise and of much interest to their many friends was that of Miss Bertha Bartley of Haines' department store, and Floyd Craig, oil driller.
The young couple had been engaged for some time but had been postponing the wedding owing to the fact that Mr. Craig is in the draft. However, while at lunch yesterday they suddenly decided to be married at once, and followed up that decision by going to the courthouse at one o'clock, where they were married by Probate Judge Mooney.
Mr. and Mrs. Craig expect to make their home in El Dorado. Their many friends join in wishing them happiness and prosperity. (Walnut Valley Times - Daily - March 1, 1918 )
