BUTLER COUNTY'S EIGHTY YEARS BIOS

DR. G. F. AMBROSE

(Transcribed by Peggy Luce)

El Dorado could ill afford the loss of Dr. G. F. Ambrose. The qualities that made him a substantial, thorough-going, upright man were the same that he poured into his measure of citizenship. As a dentist, he observed the high ethics of his profession and was devotedly faithful to his duties toward patients. He rose high in his profession, serving for a number of years as a member of the State Board of Dental Examiners and was honored with the presidency of the Kansas State Dental Association. The thread of kindness ran strongly through his human make-up. He was devoted to his home, his practice, his church, his party, and to every human affiliation. He dealt fairly with all and was neighborly and trustworthy. In forty years, Dr. Ambrose has added greatly to the fine community character that El Dorado enjoys – and this town is much in his debt. The happy memory of a useful and well-spent life that he has left behind him is a worthy monument that shall stand eternally. – July 24, 1930.
