BUTLER COUNTY'S EIGHTY YEARS BIOS
ARDEN F. CRIST
(Transcribed by Peggy Luce)
Arden F. Crist was of the newer generation in El Dorado. He came with the oil, a practical man who had followed many fields of the country, and he remained as a figure in a town that appealed to him and which, in turn, respected him for his manhood. He had a share in building the newer El Dorado, which is larger and has more ample possibilities than the old, and so wrote his name and his strength and his personality indelibly into the characteristics of this town. Arden Crist had a broad and liberal outlook on life. It is hard to bid him farewell when he was in the midst of life, with a tempering experience behind him and a glowing future before him. His town, his state, his country needs men like Crist. But, during the brief span allotted him, he poured his energies and his spirit into the world about him with a definitely helpful effect. Arden Crist served well and always his memory will be fragrant in a community that knew the uplift of his helping hand. July 30, 1924.
