BUTLER COUNTY'S EIGHTY YEARS BIOS

JIMMY JOHNSON

(Transcribed by Peggy Luce)

J. J. Johnson, who lived north of El Dorado for forty-five years, was a farmer who applied both practice and theory to his enterprise in a way to prove its efficacy. He was particularly a student of horticulture and his demonstrations of that art over many years have been a distinct contribution to the science of fruit growing. Along with his labors, he was a man of unimpeachable character, industrious, kindly, and with all the characteristics of a gentleman. “Jimmy” Johnson was a fine neighbor and friend.
