Fred L. Green, age 65, of El Dorado, died Thursday morning, Nov. 30, 1989, at his home after a long illness. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Kirby-Morris funeral home. Entombment follows at Belle Vista Mausoleum.
Mr. Green was born April 29, 1924, at Elbing, the son of John O. and Clara (Albertson) Green. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He returned to El Dorado in 1946. He was employed by the Skelly Refinery.
He was best known as a pilot and flight instructor, and taught more than 100 people to fly. For several years he taught the science of flight at Butler County Community College. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a Past Commander of the American Legion Post, the VFW, the Civil Air Patrol, The Butler County Community College Presidents Club, and Patmos Masonic Lodge No. 97 AF&AM. He was also a member of several flying associations.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Dawn Green of Atlanta, brother John O. Green Jr. of El Dorado, two sisters, Mable Teeter of Snohomish, Wash., Geraldine Lehman of Valley Center, Calf. And several nieces and nephews.
Memorial has been established with the Butler County Community College Endowment Association. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Masonic services will be held at the conclusion of the memorial services. (El Dorado Times - Nov. 30, 1989)

Musicians were Mrs. Margaret Brazil, Mrs. Kim Matthews, Ms. Dana Morris, Ms. Jennifer Morris. Songs included "One Day at A Time," and "Flying Free."
Casket bearers were Jim Lewis, David Wiebe, Gene Street, Doug Lamb, Roxy Thompson, Mike Prohodsky.
Masonic services were conducted by Patmos Lodge No. 97, AF&AM, with C. Verne Myers, orator. Lee Maloney and Howard Cool presented the flag. Entombment was at Belle Vista Mausoleum, El Dorado. (El Dorado Times, Dec. 4, 1989)
Services for Laura E. Green, age 92, a former Butler County resident, were held Wednesday, March 8, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, Pampa Texas. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery. She died March 4,1989. The Rev. A. E. Caviness officiated. John Glover was soloist. Jerry Whitten was organist. Casket bearers were Rufe Jordan, Lee Frazer, Dale Butler, Lynn Green, Norman Green Jr.
Mrs. Green married William C. Green, Aug. 15, 1914 at Green Forest, Ark. He died Dec. 13, 1980. Prior to 1936, Mr. Green was for many years an employee on the former Robert H. Hazlett Ranch (Hazford Place), working with the famous Hereford cattle show herd.
Survivors include three sons, Rex Green of Pampa, Jerry Green of Phiomath, Ore., and David Green of Lubbock, Texas, six grandchildren; and eight-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Norman Green and Ralph Green preceded her in death. (El Dorado Times, March 11, 1989)
GREENBANK, SARAH IRENE (ROBINSON)
Services for Sarah Irene (Robinson) Greenbank, age 94, were held Oct. 12, at the First Christian Church of Valley Center. Pastors Ron Cook and Gerald Zuck officiated.
Casket bearers were Phillip Wells, Larry Sherrill, W. H. Johnson, Charles Gereby, Mike George, Quentin Horning.
Marlene Thomson was organist. Joe Thomson was vocalist.
Memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Valley Center. Burial followed at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick. Nutter Mortuary of Valley Center was in charge of arrangements. (El Dorado Times, October 16, 1989)
Mary M. Greenup, age 96, a lifelong resident of Butler County, died Sunday evening, June 25, 1989, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Mrs. Greenup was born Aug. 4, 1892, in Bloomington Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tague. Her first husband, Herman Britting, died in 1919. She married Alex Greenup, Dec. 31, 1943. He died in 1967.
She served as Butler County register of deeds for three terms. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of the Eastern Star, several garden clubs and auxiliary units.
Survivors include two sons, Merle Britting of Wichita, Floyd Britting of El Dorado, five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, one daughter, Flo Catlin, four brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.
Memorial has been established with the Salvation Army. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (El Dorado Times, June 26, 1989)
Zella Evora Greep, 92, of Furley, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 1989 at Wichita. Services: Wednesday, 2 p.m., Furley United Methodist Church, burial at Whitewater Cemetery. Reverend Gleason will officiate. Memorial has been established with the Furley United Methodist Church. Lamb-Nutter is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Greep was born Jan. 30, 1896 at Whitewater. She married Edwin Greep, Aug. 6, 1913. He preceded her in death. She lived in the Whitewater-Furley Community all of her life.
Survivors: one daughter, Edna Greep Miller of Furley; two grandchildren, Edbert Miller of Berryton, Delores Ewing of Furley; four great-grandchildren, Susan Dyer of Fort Worth, Texas, Richard Miller of Berryton, Debra Ewing of Furley, Kimberly Bostick of West Germany.
