Services are pending for Geraldine Gorzkiewicz, formerly of El Dorado, who died Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 1994 in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.

She was a graduate of El Dorado High School and Butler County Junior College.

Survivors include: husband, Gene; children, Louise Gordy of Quincy, Fla., brothers, Wayne Fowler of El Dorado, Eugene Fowler of Huron, S. D., sisters, Pauline Travnicek of Colorado Springs, Colo., Betty Brickley of El Dorado, Maxine Reichert of Mesa, Ariz., Helen Storey of Crestview, Fla., nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter.

GRABNER, JOHN ROBERT

Services for John Robert Grabner, 85, of Potwin will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, Neb. John Robert "Bob" Grabner, 85 of Potwin, died Thursday, March 24, 1994, in Newton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic church in Hastings, Neb. and graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings.

He was born Jan. 26, 1909, in Neodesha, to John George and Ida (Henderson) Grabner. He moved to Potwin in 1933 to work for Vickers Petroleum Co. On Sept. 1, 1934, he and Ethel Agnes Hollis were married and they moved to Hastings, Neb. in 1962. She preceded him in death. He retired in 1975 from Farmland Industries Anhydrous Ammonia Fertilizer plant where she was maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 50 years, a founding member of the Potwin Lion's Club and the Potwin Community Club and a member of the Midland Council on Aging at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include: sons, John Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Charles of Norwalk, Iowa, Ray of Omaha, Neb., daughter, Betty Joan Whitted of Valley Center, brothers, Francis of Salina, Lewis of Dallas, Texas, Richard of Munster, Ind.; sisters, Helen Grabner of Kansas City, Mo., Mary Lou Valade of Lansing, Ill., eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Darrel, a sister, Dorothy, and a brother, Carl.

GRAGG, NORA E.

Nora E. Gragg, 96, of El Dorado, homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 21, 1994, at her home in rural El Dorado. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 29, 1897 in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of John and Melinda Bachtell Eads. She married Thomas "T. J." Gragg on Feb. 9, 1928, in Nevada, Mo. She was a member of the First Christian Church of El Dorado, Christian Church Circle of 3 and Eastern Star Little Walnut OES #362.

Survivors include: son, Jimmie, of El Dorado, daughter, Thelma Robinson of El Dorado, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, husband, 3 sons, 2 granddaughters, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

GRATTAN, EMMA "MARY BETH"

Services are pending for Emma "Mary Beth" Grattan, 93, of El Dorado, who died this morning. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home has the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, Mar. 23, 1994)

Emma "Mary Beth" Grattan, 93, of El Dorado, died Wednesday morning, March 23, 1994, at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Kirby-Morris Funeral home.

She was born April 5, 1900 in Hebron, Neb., the daughter of Harvey M. and Priscilla Elizabeth (Sanner) Gnagey. On Oct. 20, 1944, she and W. P. "Bill" Grattan were married in El Dorado. He died Feb. 2, 1982.

She had lived in the El Dorado area since 1917 after moving from Wilsey. She was a clerk in the Harris Apparel Store and Wynn Warren IGA Store, both in El Dorado. She was a member of the Brethren Church.

Survivors include: daughter, Mary Powell, of El Dorado, brother, Clyde Gnagey of El Dorado, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. (El Dorado Times, March 24, 1994)

GREEN, ALBERT HOYT

Albert Hoyt Green, 88, of El Dorado, died Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at Knutson Manor Care Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns cemetery.

He was born Aug. 10, 1906, in Toronto, the son of Albert J. and Mary Ellen Haskins Green. He graduated from Midian High School and attended Winfield College. He had lived in El Dorado for many years and was chief clerk at Skelly Pipeline when he retired in 1967. He lived in Mountain Home, Ark., for a few years after his retirement.

In December, 1927 he and Helen Esther Burnham were married. She died in September 1967. In March, 1968, he and Helen Asmussen were married.

Survivors include: wife, Helen, son, Albert Green Jr of Racine, Wis., daughter, Peggy Starner of Buhler, stepsons, Don Asmussen of El Dorado, Richard Asmussen of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, sisters, Wilma Cruise of Salem, Ill., Shirley Hartline of Del City, Okla., 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

GREER, MARION L. "MIKE"

Services for Marion L. "Mike" Greer, 71, of El Dorado, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. He died Wednesday, Oct. 19, in El Dorado. Patmos Masonic Lodge 97 AF&AM will conduct Masonic rites after the services. The oration will be given by C. Verne Myers.

Marion L. "Mike" Greer, 71, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1994, at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

He was born March 4, 1923, in Neodesha, the son of Samuel and Nelva Icel Greer. He was a steam fitter for the union and worked in refineries. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, Patmos Lodge for 33 years, and the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union 171.

On. Aug. 12, 1943, he and Helen Goodrich were married in Fredonia. He had lived in El Dorado since moving from Wichita in 1972.

Survivors include: wife, Helen, son Jim of El Dorado, daughter, Sharon Ivie of El Dorado, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Samuel, one brother, two half-sisters, and one half-brother.

GREER, ROBERT G.

Robert G. Greer, 62, of El Dorado, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 10, 1994, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Kirby Morris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born April 1, 1932, in Crocker, Mo., the son of George and Ora (Roderick) Greer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. On March 26, 1951, he and Evelyn M. Mitchell were married in El Dorado. He was an asbestos worker for the Local Chapter No. 15 of Wichita and he was the owner of Cooke's Tavern, rural El Dorado.

Survivors include: wife, Evelyn, daughter, Becky Potter of El Dorado, brother, Jack of El Dorado, sisters, Betty Grigsby of El Dorado, Darlene Turner of Arkansas City, Rita Johnson of Wichita, two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

GRIFFIN, GRACE

Grace Griffin, formerly of Cassoday and Topeka, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1994 at the Chase County Nursing Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cassoday United Methodist church. Burial will be in the Cassoday Cemetery, Pastor Eugene Wilson will officiate the services.

She was born May 15, 1904, in Cassoday, to Peter and bertha Voohees Dalke. She married L. J. Griffin. He died in 1937. She later married Leland Griffin. He died in 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cassoday United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Oliver Dalke.

GRIFFITH, PEGGY N.

Services for Peggy N. Griffith, 64, of Augusta, were held Tuesday afternoon at Lakecrest Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Harvey Coberley officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

She was born May 26, 1930, in Spadra, Ark., to Walter and Polly Stokes. On July 26, 1949, she and Curtis E. Griffith were married in Van Buren, Ark. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: husband, Curtis; sons, David Lasiter of Leon, Steve Griffith of Wichita, Joe Griffith of Leon, Tim Griffith of Augusta, daughters, Sue Desmond of Augusta, Rachel Hoose of Wichita; 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis, Jr., and two grandchildren.

GROSCH, GEORGE EDWARD "ED"

George Edward "Ed" Grosch, 52, of El Dorado, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, 1994, at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns cemetery.

He was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Topeka, the son of George L. and Georgia Lee Hudson Grosch. He moved to El Dorado from Houston several years ago. He was the custodian at the First Baptist Church and a member of the church.

Survivors include: sons, Mark, Scott, daughters, Amy, Ann, all of Houston, father, George Grosch Sr., of El Dorado; brothers, Fred of Pamona, Calif., Richard of Olathe, Larry of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.

GRUBB, THURSTON L. "T. L."

Thurston, "T. L." Grubb, 89, of Cleburne, Texas, formerly of El Dorado and Douglass, died Thursday, May 5, 1994. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Monday in Douglass, Kan. Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 22, 1905, to Otto Ray Grubb and Irene Blair, in Howard. He lived in El Dorado for about 40 years.

On Oct. 11, 1926, he and Margaret Alice Ferguson were married. She died Oct. 7, 1984. he was a retired electronics engineer for Boeing and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Douglass.

Survivors include, daughter, Shirley McKee of Cleburne, Texas, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
