Margaret (Bair) Gardner, 81, of Salina, retired teacher, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1987. Service was scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. today, at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
She is survived by her brother, Stewart Bair of El Dorado.
Other survivors include her daughter, Beth Taylor of Huntington Beach, Calif., stepson Fred Jr., of Bethany, Okla., brothers, Milton Bair of Walla, Wash.; sister, Marian Adrian of Salina; seven grandchildren. Gatewood Rites to be Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Gatewood, 51, of 904 Orient, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dietz Colonial chapel.
Mrs. Gatewood died Sunday at Allen Memorial Hospital after an illness of two years.
Formerly a telephone operator, she was a lifetime resident of El Dorado. She was born here Jan. 26, 1919. Mrs. Gatewood made her home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cooley. She was a member of the First Foursquare Gospel church.
The Rev. William Sparks, pastor of the First Foursquare Gospel church in Wichita officiated, assisted by the Rev. L.L. Benson of the First Foursquare Gospel church here.
Mrs. Gatewood is survived by her parents; one daughter, Sondra McNolty of Newton; two brothers, Arthur Cooley of 1104 North Taylor; Ralph Cooley of Douglass; and five grandchildren.
Burial will be in Belle Vista cemetery.

GIFFORD - On May 6th, Mary A. Gifford wife of O. E. Gifford, aged 53 years, 1 month, 17 days. The funeral took place from the M. E. church on Monday the 8th.
We announced Mrs. Gifford's illness last week. It was supposed then that she was improving and would soon recover but a relapse occured which ended the life of a devoted wife and kind mother.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Goad, 100, of St. Joseph's home, who died Monday, were conducted this morning at the St. Joseph's Home CHapel.
The Rev. Donald D. McCracken, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Mrs. Fred W. Burr sang "Whispering Hope" and "Precious Memories", accompanying herself at the organ.
Casket bearers were Bevy Warren, O. L. Warren, Thurston Murphy, Kenneth Murphy, Ronnie Warren and John Carnes. Burial was in Wonsevu cemetery with the Kirby Funeral home in charge. (El Dorado Times, Jan. 18, 1968 page 7)
