Carl M. Isom, 82, of El Dorado, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 20, 1994, at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita. Services are 2 p.m. Friday in Homestead Cemetery in Chase County.
He was born July 8, 1912, in Morrilton, Ark., the son of Harry and Carrie Spears Isom. He was a meat cutter and farmer/rancher, and had moved to this area from California 21 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On April 6, 1947, he and Viola Rosebraugh were married in California.
Survivors include, wife, Viola, sons, David, of the home, Gary of Thomas, Okla., daughter, Cheryl Wiening of Cassoday; sister, Kathryn Powers of Camarillo, Calif., seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Carlson Funeral Home has the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, Sep. 21, 1994)
Hans Iverson, formerly a resident of Chelsea Township died at Lockwood, Missouri March 8. He was an honest man, one with failings and faults to be
sure, but nevertheless a thoroughly honest man. His wife and boy have gone to Memphis, Tennessee where Mrs. Iverson's brother resides. (Walnut Valley Times, April 3, 1903, Volume XXXIV, Number 11 ~ Transcribed by Peggy Luce)
