KENNEDY, LYDIA E. (BARRIER)

Lydia E. (Barrier) Kennedy, 87, of Augusta, homemaker, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at the Sterling House in Augusta. Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.

She was born May 7, 19907 in Oilton, Okla., the daughter of D. B. and Nancy (Callison) Turner. On Dec. 31, 1953, she and W. E. Kennedy were married in Duncan, Okla. He preceded her in death. She was previously married to G. W. Barrier, who had also preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Okla.

Survivors include: step-son, W. G. Barrier of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dana Barrier, two brothers and three sisters, Kirby Morris Funeral Home has the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, July 21, 1994)

KENNEDY, RALPH W.

Ralph W. Kennedy, 75, of Valley Center, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 1994. Services are 1 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery, rural Augusta.

He was born Oct. 21, 1918 in Bodarc, the son of Ralph Marion Kennedy and Ada Inez (Shafter) Kennedy. On July 23, 1946, he and Alma E. Frey were married in Tripp, S. D. He retired as leadman in the stock dept. at Coleman Co. Inc in 1983 after working there for 32 years.

He was a member of the Valley Center American Legion Smith-Phipps Post 73. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a sergeant.

Survivors include: wife, Alma; daughters, Reta Heaton of Mesa, Ariz., Janine Voth of Valley Center, two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

KENNEDY, ROBERT JACK

Robert Jack Kennedy, 71, of Leon, died Sunday, April 10,1994 at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Towanda Cemetery. Rev. Bill Bullard will officiate the services.

He was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Magna City, the son of Clarence Elvin and Florence (Christenson) Kennedy. He lived in Leon since March 1993 after moving from Park Hill, Okla., where he had moved after retiring in 1983. From 1955 to 1983 he lived in Towanda.

On Dec. 25, 1941, he and Georgia Wimberly were married in El Dorado. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corps. He was a retired Derby Refining Company valve shop employee and was a member of the Carter Baptist Church and V. F. W. Post 1174.

Survivors include: wife, Georgia, son, Danny of Port Arthur, Texas, sister, Elda Cooley of El Dorado, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dick and Larry Allen; one brother and one sister.

KENNESON, ROBERT P. J.

Robert P. Kenneson Jr., 31, of Lawrence died at his home Monday, May 2, 1994. Services were scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at the Lawrence Public Library.

He was born Nov. 2, 1962 in Akron, Ohio to Robert P. Kenneson Sr., and Joan M. Hoch Kenneson of Eureka. He graduated from El Dorado High School, the Automotive & Electrice Institute in 1981, and attended Kansas State University. He worked for a design and landscape company in Kansas city, Kan., Pence Garden Center in Lawrence, and in April 1991 he began working at the Lawrence Public Library as a reference clerk.

Survivors include: parents, Joan & Robert Kenneson Sr. of Eureka, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kenneson of Coleville, Pa., brothers, Rory of El Dorado, Rolland of Colorado Springs, Colo., sisters, Angela Hoyt of Cassoday, Audra Kenneson of Eureka.

KEYS, IMOGENE A.

Imogene A. Keys, 68, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 1994 at HCA Wesley Medical Center. Services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery.

She was born July 24, 1926, the daughter of George Smothers and Laura Keithly in Pendal, Ark. On Dec. 13, 1941, she and Troy L. keys were married in Harrison, Ark. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: husband, Troy; daughter, Wilma Bell of Towanda; sister, Demoye Rowland of Harrison, Ark.; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren.

KILGORE, ALVIN J.

Alvin J. Kilgore, 82, of El Dorado, died Thursday evening, March 3, 1994, at the VA Hospital in Wichita. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born June 28, 1911 in Scranton, the son of Francis and Effie A. (Hungate) Kilgore, and moved to El Dorado in 1920. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army in Central Europe. He and Delores Hale were married in 1928. He married Eileen L. Beck in 1948. She died in 1975. He worked as a sheet metal assembler for Beech Aircraft for 26 years and retired in 1976.

His memberships included the Living Water Chapel, long time member of V. F. W. Disabled Veterans, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Survivors include: son, Alfred of Spring Valley, Calif., daughter, Earlene Petty of Marion; four grandchildren.

KILPATRICK, HOMER D.

Services are pending for Homer D. Kilpatrick, 57, of Golden City, Mo., formerly of El Dorado who died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1994 at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.

He married Beverly Hiner, June 20, 1989 in El Dorado, where they lived for five years. He was a machinist.

Survivors include: wife, Beverly, sons, Ken of Springfield, Mo., Keith of Tahlequah, Okla., Mike of Louisiana, daughter, Susan of Louisana, five grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren.

KING, JOE C.

Joe C. King, 73, of Wichita, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1994. Services are 10 a.m. .Tuesday at Downing & Lahey Mortuary.

He was born May 5, 1921, in El Dorado the son of Clarence King and Zana Emma Challender. He was a retired Wichita schools counselor and a U. S. Army Reserve Lt. Col.

Survivors include: wife, Letha, son, Douglas of Wichita, daughter, Marsha of Topeka; one grandson.

KINGLSEY, LAVERNE V.

LaVerne V. Kingsley, 58, of El Dorado, died Friday, Feb. 18, 1994. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Towanda Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 26, 1935 at Rock, the son of Lewis and Jessie Spivey Kingsley. He was retired and had been foreman for A. M. A. Electric. He had lived in El Dorado since 1962, living a number of different places in southern Butler County. He and Joyce Hummel were married Sept. 1, 1962, in Miami, Okla.

Survivors include: wife, Joyce, son, Clint Hummel of Augusta; daughter, Karen Thomas of Towanda, mother, Jessie Kingsley of Leon, brothers, Leonard and Junior, both of El Dorado, Mike and Myron both of Leon, Harry of Osawatomie, Eddie of Stuart, Fla., half brothers, Mitchell of Beaumont, Texas, Earl of Ford, half sisters, Minnie of Burns, Esther of El Dorado, Blanche of Wyoming, two grandsons.

Edna Kinsinger, 51, of Gillette, Wyo., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gillette.

KIRKPATRICK, PATRICIA 'PATTY'

Patricia "Patty" Sue Kirkpatrick, 48, of Augusta, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994 at Wesley Medical Center. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 12, 1945, in El Dorado, the daughter of Harold E. Kirkpatrick and Marjorie Chrisman. She was a senior buyer at Beech Aircraft.

Survivors include: sisters, Connie Wolf, Micki Brinkley, both of Augusta, parents, Harold & Marjorie Kirkpatrick of Augusta. Memorial are to the American Diabetes Association Research Division. (El Dorado Times, July 22, 1994)

KIRKPATRICK, WILLIAM RAYMOND

William Raymond Kirkpatrick, 72, of El Dorado, died Sunday, March 6, 1994 at HCA Wesley Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born June 15, 1921, the son of William Lloyd and Merna Finely Kirkpatrick and grew up in Leon. He lived most of his life in El Dorado. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.

On Jan. 24, 1945, he and Bernice Banks were married in El Dorado. He was a retired partner in the El Dorado Dairy and a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and the Vintage Auto Club.

Survivors include: wife, Bernice, son, Dennie of Towanda, daughters, Connie Andrews of El Dorado, Vicki Dimick of Andover, brothers, Donald of Augusta, Gene of Seminole, Okla., sister, Vera Colin of El Dorado, five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.

KNOWLES, ROBERT LEE

Robert Lee Knowles, 57, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1994, in Liberty (Mo.) Hospital. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Prichard Chapel, Excelsior Springs.

He was born July 12, 1936 in El Dorado, to Edward A., and Mae C. (Subke) Knowles. In 1959, he and Eileen Bartz were married in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a signalman for Burlington Northern Railroad.

Survivors include: wife, Eileen, sons, Gregory of Independence, Mo., Brian of Harrison, Ark., daughter, Debroah Stamness of Arab, Ala., brothers, Charles of Wichita, John of El Dorado, sisters Freida Dickson, Betty Vickery, both of El Dorado, one grandchild.
