Mrs. Mary E. Kilgore had shed her radiance as home-maker in El Dorado for forty-three years. Of all the occupations of mankind, this ranks highest. She was the mother of eight children—tender, gracious, loving—a mother who typified all the glorious excellences of that magic name. She filled to the overflowing the measure of her duty toward an eminent husband and a family of bright, capable children. The beauty of her character lives on in the lives of those to whom she gave life and whose faltering footsteps she first guided in a world of tumult. Without doubt there is set apart in celestial realms a place for loving, self-sacrificing mothers—and there she shall shine as the stars forever and ever.---July, 1928.
