WIKE, MARJORIE MARKEE HULL

EL DORADO - Wike, Marjorie Markee Hull, 85, passed away June 26, 2006 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kan. Service 2 p.m. Thursday, First Christian Church, El Dorado, Kan., followed by burial at McGill Cemetery, Potwin, Kan. She was born at rural Potwin, Kan., the daughter of the late Edd R. and Edith Case Markee, Aug. 8, 1920. She attended Four-Mile Grade School and graduated from Potwin High School in 1938. She married Hobart S. Hull of Towanda, Kan. at the Potwin Christian Church parsonage, Nov. 5, 1939 and leaves two daughter s and sons-in-law, Helen Hull and Sonny Parker of Hays, Kan. and Virginia Hull and Jim Stricker of Ankeny, Iowa. Hobart was killed in Okinawa during World War II in May 1945. She married Virgil R. Wike in July 1946 and leaves a son, Vernon R. Wike of Ankeny, Iowa. Virgil preceded her in death April 23, 2003. She is survived by her three children; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchild ren; two brothers, Arleigh and wife, Frances Markee of Newton, Kan. and Clyde Markee of Wichita Falls, Texas and many relatives and friends. She lived for 39 years in Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe, Ariz. She retired in April 1983 from Continental Service Corp. of Phoenix, Ariz. and returned to Kansas in May 1986. After Virgil's death she moved to El Dorado, Kan., where she was a member of the First Christian Church. She moved to Hays, Kan. June 6th of this years. MADISON - Yesconis, Biggs Carole, 56, born July 21, 1948 in El Dorado, KS, passed away on Jan. 26, 2005 at Midland Hospice Center in Topeka, KS. Carole, formerly of Madison, was residing at Life Care Center of Burlington, KS. Her life was compromised by Scleroderma for the past few years. Carole was very creative in the fields of art and music. Her father, Lawrence Biggs of Madison and a brother, Lyman Biggs preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, a daughter, Tashia Johnson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and a son, Dane Yesconis of Gainesville, FL; her mother, Dorothy Biggs of Emporia, KS; a brother, Leonard Biggs of Madison, KS. Elias Austin Russell, 83, of Potwin, a retired school custodian died Friday night at Allen Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Potwin Christian Church, with the Rev. Herbert Kreller officiating. Burial will be in the McGill cemetery. Lamb Morturary, Whitewater is in charge.

Mr. Russell was born Dec. 12, 1884, at McCune, Kan. He and Maritta L. Brown were married in November 1907, at Ames Okla. Mrs Russell died in January, 1957.

Mr. Russell moved to Potwin in 1925 from Ames, Okla. He was a member of the Brethern Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George Brenner, Potwin: one son Ray R. Russell, Valley Center: one sister, Mrs. Jane Voight, Napa, Idaho: one brother, H. J. Russell, Grand Island, Neb.: and three grandchildren. (The El Dorado Times, July 13, 1968, submitted by Clinton J. Schmidt)

FOULK,  CHARLES  F.

Potwin, Kan. -- Services for Charles F. Foulk, 88, retired employe of Vickers Refinery, will be at 2 p.m.  Wednesday in Potwin Christian Church.  He died Sunday.  Survivors include two sons, Raymond, Potwin, and Harley, El Dorado, Kan.  Kirby Funeral Home, El Dorado, has charge.
