James F. Mulvaney, 46, of 949 South Clifton, Wichita, died Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Services were held Friday at St. John's Catholic Church with burial in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

The Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Mulvaney was born Nov. 3, 1932, at El Dorado, the son of Thomas G. and Frances F. Mulvaney. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for the past 21 years in repairs and installation. On July 25, 1959, he was married to Lea Shasteen in El Dorado. They moved to Wichita from El Dorado 12 years ago. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the All-Saints Catholic Church but prior to that was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors are his wife, Lea, of the home; a son, Michael; three daughters, Dina, Jacqueline and Brenda, all of the home; his mother, Frances F. Mulvaney of El Dorado; two brothers, Thomas G. of San Antonio, Texas, and Bill of El Dorado; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Redburn of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mrs. Geraldine Wecker of Wichita, Mrs. Mary Jane Feller of El Dorado and Mrs. Sue Stephenson of Lincoln, Neb.

Mary Mulvaney Dies on Sunday

Mary Agnes Mulvaney, 18, 619 West Third, daughter of Mrs. R. Leon (Frances) Mulvaney, died at the family home Sunday afternoon. She had been ill the past three weeks.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Born here August 14, 1954, she had lived in El Dorado all her years.

Survivors include: her mother, Frances of the home; one sister, Mrs. Carla Ann Misejka, of Kansas City, Missouri; one half-brother, William Nelson Skinner, Route 4, El Dorado; one half-sister, Mrs. Tamara Ann Gann, Warrensburg, Missouri; her maternal grandfather, R. E. Sluss, 529 South Main, and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. T. G. Mulvaney, 511 North Denver.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Leon Mulvaney.

Those who wish may contribute to the Butler County Association for Retarded Children in her memory. Contributions may be made in care of Mrs. J. R. Jacoby, Route 1, El Dorado.

Mulvaney Services Monday

Frances E. Mulvaney, 66, of 302 S. Main, died Friday evening in El Dorado. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Mrs. Mulvaney was born Dec. 7, 1918 in Butler County, the daughter of Russell and Hattie Boone Sluss. She had lived all her life in this area. Memberships included the First Christian Church and the Butler County Retarded Children.

Survivors include one son, William Skinner, of El Dorado; two daughters, Tammy Gann of West Linn, Ore., and Carla Misejka of Blue Springs, Mo.; one brother, Russell Sluss Jr. of El Dorado; and six grandchildren, Bart and Brett Skinner of El Dorado, Megan and Will Gann of West Linn, Ore., and Brandon and Kristi Misejka of Blue Springs, Mo.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Mulvaney; one sister, Betty Brown; and her parents.

Robert Mulvaney Collapses, Dies While Working

Robert Leon Mulvaney, 619 West Third, collapsed and died suddenly while working at the Skelly Oil company refinery here this morning. He was 48 years old.

Mr. Mulvaney, who was employed as foreman of the refinery's index unit came to El Dorado from Clarksburg, W. Va., in 1917. He had been employed by Skelly since 1939.

He was graduated from El Dorado High School and was a veteran of World War II.

His memberships included St. John's Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, El Dorado Elks Lodge, and American Philatelic Society. He also served as secretary of the Skelly Empoyees Credit Union.

Mr. Mulvaney was born Jan. 21, 1917, at Clarksburg. He and Frances Sluss Skinner were married here on Oct. 13, 1951.

Survivors include the wife of the home; two daughters, Carla Ann and Mary Agnes, both of the home; two step-children, Miss Tamera A. Skinner of the home and William Skinner, Route 1; his mother, Mrs. T.G. Mulvaney, 308 North Taylor; four sisters, Mrs. R.A. Redburn, Scottsdale, Ariz., Mrs. Jack Wrecker, Wichita, Mrs. Wendall Feller, 640 Houser, and Mrs. Gary Stevenson, Topeka; three brothers, Thomas G. Mulvaney Jr., San Antonio, Tex., William B. 606 West Fourth and James F., 427 North Alleghany.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. John's Church by the Rev. Father Michael Blackledge. Interment will be made in Sunset Lawns cemetery. A recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Kirby Funeral Home chapel.

T. G. Mulvaney Dies Suddenly Yesterday

Thomas G. Mulvaney, a resident of El Dorado for the past 22 years, died suddenly of a heart attack late yesterday afternoon at his home 619 North Topeka Street. He was 57 years old.

Mr. Mulvaney died less than two hours after he was stricken, his death following a minor heart attack suffered a week ago.

The El Doradoan was well known here and his passing comes as a shock to a large number of friends and relatives.

Mr. Mulvaney was an oil well driller and at the time of his death was employed by Isador Molk.

He was born at Clarksburg, W. Va., on September 1, 1881 and was married to Frances Ann Farrel there on September 18, 1913. The El Dorado man was a member of St. John's Catholic Church here.

He is survived by his widow: four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Redburn, of Norman, Okla., and Geraldine , Mary Jane and Sue Ellen, all at home; four sons, Leon, Thomas, Billy and James, also at home; five sisters, Dr. Genevieve E. Glenn and Mrs. Charles Callahan, both of Clarksburg, W. Va., and Mrs. Esther McLaughlin, Miss Helen Mulvaney and Dr. Lucille Mulvaney, all of Washington, D.C.; and three brothers, Francis Mulvaney of Waynesburg, W. Va., John Mulvaney, of Baltimore, Md., and James Mulvaney of Clarksburg, W. Va.

William B. Mulvaney

William B. "Bill" Mulvaney, 58, of 608 W. Fourth, died Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 1986, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church.

Mr. Mulvaney was born July 10, 1928, in Lost Springs, Kans., the son of Thomas G. and Frances Ann (Farrell) Mulvaney. On Oct. 6, 1958, he and Patricia L. Fudge were united in marriage at St. John's Catholic Church in El Dorado. He had lived in El Dorado for most of his life.

For more then 39 years, Mr. Mulvaney was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as an installation repairman. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Telephone Pioneers and Communication Workers of America union. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Mulvaney was a Marine veteran of World War II and the Koren War.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of the home; three sons, Shawn P. Mulvaney of Fort Worth,Texas, S. Michael Mulvaney of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Kevin J. Mulvaney of El Dorado; six daughters, Kerry A. Mulvaney of Hutchinson, Martha L. Mulvaney and Kathleen M. Mulvaney both of Fort Worth, Darcy C. Mulvaney of Wichita, Susan B. Mulvaney and Nancy J. Mulvaney, both of the home; his mother, Francis Ann Mulvaney of El Dorado; one brother, Thomas Mulvaney of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Pauline Redburn of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jo Wecker of Wichita, Mary Jane Feller of El Dorado, and Sue Stephenson of Rosalia.

He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers.

Local man dies from injuries suffered in work accident -Times Staff Report

William B. Mulvaney, 608 W. Fourth, who had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 39 years, died Tuesday after falling off a ladder while working in Towanda Saturday.

Richard A. Guthrie, Southwestern Bell district manager in Hutchinson, said that all he knew about the accident was that Mulvaney did fall off a ladder.

"We are still investigating the accident." Guthrie said today.

Mulvaney suffered a fractured collarbone, according to a spokeswoman at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Cause of death was reported as a blood clot.

She said it was not uncommon for a blood clot to develop after a fracture.

"It happens more than you think," she said.

Mulvaney was an outside plant technician, working on telephone installation and repair, according to Guthrie.
