Ida M. (Spires) McDaniel, 101, Augusta, passed away on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Winfield.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
Ida was born on March 28, 1905 in Mound Valley to George and Lela (Berkley) Spires. The family moved to Rock in 1905, where she attended Green Valley School. She married Harry McDaniel in 1925. She retired as a sales clerk for Innes Department Store in Wichita in 1965.
She is survived by: a daughter, Naida Waples of Douglass; a son, Wallace McDaniel of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Lela M. Miler, 63, of Towanda, died Sunday at the Four Seasons Nursing Center in El Dorado after an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be at 10 am. Wednesday at the Kirby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas J. Bennett interim pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Burial will be in Towanda cemetery with graveside rites by the Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs. Miller was born at Bethany, Ill., on Oct. 15, 1904. She was married to William E. Piper at El Dorado on May 16, 1923. He died in 1929. She was married to Lloyd Miller at Eureka on Sept. 16, 1933. He died in 1960.
Mrs. Miller lived at Oil Hill from 1932 until 1933, in El Dorado from 1933 until 1958, at Towanda from 1958 until 1962 and in South Dakota for two years. She returned to El Dorado six months ago.
She was a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 10 and of the Encampment.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Delores Johnson of Rapid City, S. D., a son, Milford E. Piper of Towanda, a sister, Mrs. Eulala Thompson, 1111 West Olive avenue; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers preceded Mrs. Miller in death. (El Dorado Times, January 15, 1968)
Services were held Wednesday at the Kirby Funeral Home for Curtis Money of 634 North Emporia who died December 13 in Allen Memorial Hospital. The Rev. William Sparks and the Rev. Clarence Murphy officiated. Mrs. Clarence Murphy and Mrs. William Sparks sang "Ivory Palaces," "Face to Face," and "When We See Christ," with Miss Karlyn Sparks as organ accompanist. The casket bearers were M. F. Gwin, Dan Blaine, F. B. McKinney, H. M. Davenport, F. E. Traylor and C. A. Chalfant. Honorary bearers were Raymond F. Ralston, Bucky Harris, O. A. Fuller, R. H. Stephenson, Roman Schmidt and S. W. Miller. Interment was in Walnut Valley Memorial Park with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion.
A resident of Butler County most of his life, Mr. Money was born April 10, 1883 in Wichita and moved to the Chelsea area as a small boy with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Money (Lillian Ann Hedrick). He came to El Dorado in 1924. His marriage to Lula G. Stovall took place August 29, 1948 at Towanda.
Before retirement in 1958. Mr. Money had been with the Skelly Oil Company 35 years. He was a veteran of World War I, entering military service June 27, 1918, and receiving his discharge June 6, 1919 at Camp Funston. During World War II he was active in civil defense work and was a member of the auxiliary police at the refinery.
Mr. Money was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are Mrs. Money, two step-daughters and two step-sons, Mrs. Bernice Faidley, of El Dorado; Mrs. Maxine Buford, Albuquerque, N.M., Clyde and Junior Brush of Towanda and Floyd Brush, Willow Springs, Mo., two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Leta Myers of Wichita, Mrs. Nina Jones, Augusta, and Russell Money, Yakima, Wash. There are 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. (El Dorado Times, Jan. 4, 1968)

Harold "William" Myers, 77, of 123 S. Custer, Wichita retired Frank Black Oil Field Supply Mechanic, died Friday, July 14, 1987.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary. Burial follows at the Quiring-Old Mission Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne E. Karlowskii will officiate. Memorials have been established in his name with the Kansas Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
Mr. Myers was born Feb. 2, 1910 in Florence, son of Virgil E. Myers and Rose L. Beasley. He was married Nov. 26, 1973 to Wanda B. Harris in Valley Center. He moved to El Dorado with his family in 1923. He lived most of his life in the El Dorado and Valley Center area. He was also employed by Stewart & Groves Oil Company and the companies of Banks and Myers. He left the El Dorado area in the early 1950s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and one grandson.
Surviving family includes his wife, Wanda B., sons, Bill of Wichita, Virgil of Towanda, Frank of El Dorado, daughter, Sandra J. Atherton of Haysville, stepson, Rick A. Rogers of Wichita, brother Edwin of Hillsboro; sisters, Flora Grant of Torrance, Calif., Ruby Stokes of El Dorado; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. (El Dorado Times, July 27, 1987)
Gladys Juanita (Keihl) Myers, 85, of Augusta, homemaker, died Wednesday, March 30, 1988. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta.
Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Wallace of Augusta, Ruth Green of Pittsburg; brother, Robert Keihl of San Francisco; sisters, Gertrude Nazar of Redwood, Calif., Ella Kness of Utah; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Rosamond Kistler Myers, 84, of Stillwater, Okla., died Monday at Stillwater.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Mrs. Myers was born Oct. 26, 1895, at St. Ciera, Kan., the daughter of Nathan Edward and Amanda Alice Page Gideon. On Dec. 25, 1920, she married Merle D. Kistler and he died Dec. 7, 1952. Mrs. Myers had lived in the El Dorado area since 1915, coming here from Ponca City, Okla. On Oct. 7, 1962, she was married to Ira E. Myers, who died Aug. 23, 1971. In 1974, Mrs. Myers moved to Stillwater to be with her sister. For many years she was a certified public accountant in El Dorado. She was a member of the Presbyertian Church and other memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary and she served as the first president and she was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Lorene Pickett of Ponca City, Mrs. Myron Moore of Stillwater and Mrs. Madge Hinds of Beverly Hills, Calif., and a brother, Harry Gideon of Blackwell, Okla.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. (El Dorado Times, Dec. 26, 1979)
Services for Rose Meyer, 85, of El Dorado, were held Monday morning at Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Burial followed the services. Mrs. Meyer died Thursday, March 17.
Reverend Harold Posey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated at the services.
Honorary bearers were J. T. Boardman, Bill Johnson, Burt Long, Jim Moreland, Bill Isaac and Chet McCoy.
Mrs. Meyer was born Jan. 30, 1903 at Ohiowa, Neb. The daughter of Joseph and Lena Babe Gewecke. She married James Meyer, Dec. 8, 1926 at Geneva, Neb. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Richard and his wife, Lisa of Longmont, Colo.; one sister, Mable Wentz of Geneva, Neb.; and three grandchildren. Carlson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, March 22, 1988)
