Julia H. Notz, 81, of El Dorado, died this morning at Fanning Nursing Home in El Dorado. Services will be announced later by Carlson Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times, April 20, 1984)
Julia H. Notz, 81, of 415 W. Third, died Friday morning at the Fanning Care Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Burns.
She was born April 24, 1902 at Mittelfischach, Germany, the daughter of Leonhard and Regina Ketteman Hubman. She married Jacob Fredrick Notz on Sept. 14, 1924 at Wichita and they moved to Burns, where they made their home for many years. She moved to El Dorado 23 years ago.
She was a homemaker and had worked in the laundry at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital until retiring in 1978. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Burns and attended the Trinity United Methodist Church at El Dorado. Mrs. Notz was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Womens Society of the church and was active in her Sunday School class.
Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1960.
Survivors include a son, Harold of Andover, a daughter, Betty Kaufman of Potwin, a stepson Ralph of Tulsa; one sister, Rosa Holt of Dodge City; and 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchidlren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one stepdaughter, one brother and one sister.

Ora M. (Mrs. Merl) Nutter, 87, of Topeka, formerly of 213 El Dorado, died Sunday morning at the Methodist Home in Topeka. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, El Dorado, and 4 p.m. at the Belleville City Cemetery, Belleville, Kans. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home.
She was born Dec. 19, 1896, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles E. and Anna Lauderbaugh Hillbrand. She was a homemaker and music teacher. Mrs. Nutter was a member of the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado; a member of the Little Walnut Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Leon; and a member of the W. S. C. S.
She married Charles Canfield June 24, 1914, in Belleville, and he preceded her in death in 1953. She married the Rev. Merl Nutter, Feb. 17, 1957, in El Dorado.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Earl C. Canfield, Topeka, Gerald L. Canfield, Tulsa; Burton Canfield, Kansas City, Mo., a daughter, Eleanor Jane Fritsche, Estes Park, Colo., a stepson, Murlin Nutter, Los Alamos, N.M.; a step-daughter, Merline Snyder of Topeka, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dale and two brothers.
