OBITUARIES

CALLAN, SUSAN CROOK

Mrs. Susan Crook Callan, of 1860 East 16th Place, a long time resident of Tulsa, Okla., and who was born and reared in El Dorado, died recently. Services were held at Tulsa where interment was in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Mrs. Callan was a sister of Jake I. Crook of El Dorado, Frank M. Crook, 6326 E. Newton Place, Tulsa; and of Mrs. George Rounds (Virgil Crook) of 676 Dewey Street, Birmingham, Mich. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Tulsa.

A graduate of El Dorado High School, Mrs. Callan was a member of the First Christian Church during her residence here.

Mrs. Rounds, Jake I. Crook, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crook and Mrs. E. L. Crook of EL Dorado were among relatives who attended the services held at Tulsa. (El Dorado Times, May 20, 1965)

CANON, EARL GOODRICH

Earl Goodrich Canon of Latham who died July 22 in the Wesley Medical Center at Wichita was born September 12, 1887 at Ponca, Nebr., a son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Price) Canon. For the past sixty-three years he had lived in the Beaumont and Latham area where he engaged in farming and stock raising. His marriage to Iva G. Payne took place July 12, 1910 at Wichita.

Surviving are Mrs. Canon; a a daughter and a son, Mrs. Fama McLaughlin of Chicago, Ill., and Gay R. Canon of Latham; four sisters, Mrs. Lettie White of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Edith Taliaferro, Severy; Mrs. Florence Phillips of Wichita and Mrs. Ruby Allen, Independence, Mo.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Treva L. Hanks of Plains and three great grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday in the Latham Baptist church, the Rev. Ben W. Berger officiating. Mrs. Viola Bergen and Nina Hearne were the musicians. The casket bearers were Fred Davis, Raymond Bing, Harry Amlong, Penny Wakefield, Ralph Hearne, and Jim Lambing. Interment was in Latham Cemetery. The Kirby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. CARR, ALBERT C.

Memorial services for Albert C. Carr, 84, of 920 N. Denver, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Temple Baptist Church. Burial was in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. He died March 19.

Mr. Carr was a retired Boeing plant engineer, retiring in 1965. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, the Sunflower Masonic Lodge and the Wichita Consistory.

Rev. Melvin Brown officiated. Organist was Mrs. Barbara Brown and vocalists were Dee Rowland and Dorothy Estes. Musical selections were "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder," and "Lily of the Valley."

Casket bearers were Randy Carr, Brad Carr, Tom Carr, Rick Curless, Greg Smith, and Delbert Logsdon. Honorary casket bearers were Eric Vollmar, Douglas Rohrback, Greg Lassey and Don Colchin.

CHALFANT, ALLEN GRIFFITH

Funeral services for Allen Griffith Chalfant who died last Thursday, were held yesterday afternoon at the Byrd Funeral Home. They were in charge of Rev. Ogle Pruitt pastor of the Baptist Church and interment was made in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

The pallbearers included: M. F. Gwin, Roy Wallace, J. D. Brown, M. L. Creager, C. C. Blaine and Harold Moss. Mrs. Fred Burr sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and Mr. Pruett "Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Burr, also played the accompaniment for both numbers. (El Dorado Times, June 1, 1945)

CLAWSON, CLARA WALKER

Mrs. Clara Walker Clawson, 96 year-old Potwin resident, died her yesterday morning after an illness of two weeks. She had lived at Potwin 62 years.

She was born at Bartholomew, Ind., Sept. 5, 1860 and was married to Henry Clawson at Windsor, Ill., on March 1, 1881. Mr. Clawson died in 1896.

Mrs. Clawson moved to Potwin in 1895, where she lived except for eight years at Wichita. In earlier life she had been active in church and community affairs and was a member of the Potwin Christian church. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America more than 50 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George Rhodes, and Mrs. C. W. Mawson both of Potwin, and Miss Augusta Clawson, Wichita, a son, Dan W. Clawson also of Wichita, a brother, J. T. Walker, Windsor, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Potwin Christian Church with the Rev. Clinton M. Thomas conducting. Burial will be in the Potwin Cemetery.

CORBIN, DAVID KEITH

David Keith Corbin, Sr., 65, of Augusta, a retired Beech Aircraft Corp. employee, died Wednesday. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; son, David K., Jr., of Augusta; daughter, Kathryn Owens of New York City; brothers, Phillip of Clinton, Okla., and Jim of Tonkawa, Okla., sisters, Bonnie DeWeese of Ponca City and Patricia Pruitt of Morrison, Okla. And one grandchild.

CORNWELL, PAUL LEONARD

Paul Leonard Cornwell, who died January 4, at his home, Cassoday route one, was born July 24, 1895 in Sumner county and had spent most of his life in the Cassoday area. His parents were William and Stella (Hackney) Cornwell. His marriage to Alta Cooper took place March 1, 1923 in El Dorado.

Prior to retirement he was employed by Chelsea township and also engaged in farming. He was a member of the Durachen school board of education for many years.

Surviving are Mrs. Cornwell; one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Agnes Manka, El Dorado, route three, Wesley Cornwell, Cottonwood, Ariz., Ralph Cornwell, Harrison, Ark., and Bryan Cornwell of Lyndon.

Services were held Wednesday in the Cassoday United Methodist Church, the Rev. John Peacock of Cheney officiating. Mrs. Harmon Lackey was the organ accompanist for Chad Patton who sang "God Be With You," and "We'll Never Say Goodby." The casket bearers were Wayne Cornwell, Harold Cornwell, Max Barclay, Paul Cooper, and John Cooper. Interment was in Fairmount Cemetery at Elbing. The Kirby Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. CROWLEY, WINONA MAY

Winona May Crowley, 79, of Augusta, died Thursday, March 21 at the August Medical Complex. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Dunford Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

She was born June 2, 1905 at Rosalia to Charles and Peal Larson Cook. She was married Sept. 5, 1925 at Newton to John Richard Crowley who preceded her in death in November 1978. She belong to the Eastern Star, Soroptomist and the Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Bob of Leon and Buzz of Midland, Texas; one sister, Hazel Carter, of Wichita; and nine grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

One grandson, Brent also preceded in death in March 1985.

A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church in Augusta. (El Dorado Times. March 22, 1985)

DILL, WAYNE A.

Services for Wayne A. Dill, of La Verne, Calif., were held March 31, at Forest Lawn Covina Hills. He died March 28, 1987, in La Verne.

He was born in Leon, Feb. 22, 1911. He moved to California in 1956 from Wichita.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Marilyn Springer, and Linda Fehn, both of Upland, Calif., a son Richard of Mission Viejo, Calif., two sisters, Isabel Litton of El Dorado, and Lois Seward of Leon, a brother, Lyle of El Dorado, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lloyd Gray. (El Dorado Times, April 20, 1987)

DILLER, ALICE V. (KIRKPATRICK)

Alice V. (Kirkpatrick) Diller, 81, of Augusta, retired Calvert's Department Store clerk, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1987. Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Survivors include husband, Arthur, brother, Harold Kirkpatrick of Augusta. Memorial has been established with Church of Christ, Augusta. (El Dorado Times, November 17, 1987)

DILTS, MARY A.

Mary A. Dilts, 92, of Leon, died Saturday, May 2, 1987 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Leon Christian Church. Burial will follow in Leon Cemetery.

She was born July 22, 1894, in Dixon, Neb., the daughter of Harry and Hester Richards Richardson. When she was seven, the family moved to the Leon area. She married John Glassburner, Feb. 14, 1915. He died in March of 1928. She married Lewis A. Dilts, August 30, 1929. He died May 18, 1969. She was a member of the Leon Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Harry Glassburner, of Anderson, Mo., Ray Dilts of El Dorado, Rolla Dilts of Leon, three daughters, Hazel Waner of LaJunta Colo., Opal Wilcox of Wichita, Ruth Hartgrove of Mulvane, one brother, Clifford Richardson of Great Bend, one sister Maude Lyons of Shattuc, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter in infancy, one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.

DUNMIRE, MARGARET (MRS. WILLIAM A.)

Mrs. William A. (Margaret) Dunmire, 46, Wichita, died Tuesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Survivors are her husband, and three sons, Randolf, William and Timothy and two daughters, Rose and Colleen all of the home, another daughter, Mrs. Denise Auer of Wichita, three brothers, John and Gilbert Sigg both of Wichita and Bud Sigg of Aurora, Colo., seven sisters, Mrs. Benny Hoppes, Mrs. Letty Masterson and Sister Anna Mary all of Wichita, Mrs. Reo Griffith of Klamath Falls, Ore., Mrs. Rita McClain of Conway Springs, Mrs. Jane Roberts of Cassoday and Mrs. Treasa Nelson of Arizona. FLICK, ELWOOD

Elwood Flick, 78, Wichita, formerly of Cassoday, died Tuesday of emphysema. He was a brother in law of Mrs. Charles H. Flick of El Dorado.

Services were scheduled for 10:45 a.m. today at the Old Nation Mausoleum, Wichita.

He is survived by a niece, Clara Bramer of Shelton, Wash., and her two children. (Augusta Gazette, May 3, 1976)

KELLY, MRS. CLIFFORD A.

The body of Mrs. Clifford A. Kelly, 47, of 901 North Gordy Street, was found at her home late Tuesday afternoon.

Investigating officers today termed her death a suicide by shooting. Officers said a .22 caliber gun was found on the rear porch of the home near Mrs. Kelly's body.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dietz Pittman Burial will be in Sunset Lawns cemetery.

Mrs. Kelly had lived in El Dorado for 12 years. She was born at Mountain Home, Ark., on May 3, 1920. Prior to coming to El Dorado she lived at Wichita six years, one year at Winfield, five in Washington state and seven in Phoenix, Ariz.

She was married to Clifford A. Kelly on May 19, 1936, at Greensburg, Kan. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Danny Lee Kelly, with the United States Marine Corps at Anaheim, Calif., and Clifford Alan Kelly, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Frankie Rae Fuller of Batesville, Ark., and Mrs. Sharon Ellis of Manhattan; two sisters, Mrs. E. T. Ward of Brawley, Calif., and Elwanda Moody of Bentonville, Ark., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burchard A. Moody, also of Bentonville. There are five grandchildren. KIRKPATRICK, J. W.

Services for J. W. Kirkpatrick, 84, retired jeweler and businessman who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Born at Decatur, Ill., he came here in 1900. He resided in Wichita for the next few years and returned here in 1907 when he established Kirkpatrick Jewelry Store. He was chairman of the board of Mid-Continent Federal Savings and Loan Association and for 20 years he was a member of the board of directors of the Kansas Gas and Electric Co. He was also a long time director of the Citizens State Bank and was one of the original members of the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital Corp.

He was a member of Rotary, original member of the El Dorado Country Club and a Mason.

There are no immediate survivors.

Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home has charge.

KNOX, ALICE ADAMS

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Adams Knox, 68, of Beaumont, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Kirby Funeral Home at El Dorado. Mrs. Knox died Sunday.

Survivors are the widower, John Knox; daughter, Mrs. Ralph Prewitt of Cassoday and brothers, Roy Adams of Independence and Wesley Adams of Tempe, Arizona. (Augusta Gazette, May 3, 1976)

KRUNZE, HARLEY L.

Services for Harley L. Krunze, 33, a truck driver, who died Monday in Salina, Kan., from a gunshot wound, were Thursday at Kirby Funeral Home.

Salina police said Krunze, who had lived in Salina about a month, shot himself moments after officers arrived at his home.

He was a longtime resident of the El Dorado area.

Survivors include two sons, Danny and Jeffery and three daughters, Brenda, Loria Ann and Judy, all of Cherryvale, Kan.; his mother, Mrs. Mary Dixon, El Dorado and a half brother, Richard Dixon, U. S. Navy. (El Dorado Times, Friday, September 15, 1967)

LEWIS, VIRGIL FRANKLIN

Virgil Franklin Lewis, 66, of Cassoday, died Thursday at Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado. He was a retired telephone company lineman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at the Palmyra Baptist Church, rural Benton with Lamb Mortuary, Whitewater, in charge. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Benton.

Survivors include his wife, Ina, of the home, one son, Virgil Lewis, Jr., of Peabody, two daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Roma) Becker of Peabody, and Mrs. Roy (Zeola) Kasper, Walton; three sisters, Mrs. Faye Phipps of Newton, Mrs. Goldie Brooks and Mrs. Velma Hawes both of De Ridder, La.; two brothers, Lloyd Lewis of Cassoday and Clifford Lewis of El Dorado; and ten grandchildren. LOVELACE, MRS. QUINTON

Services were held Tuesday at the Second Baptist Church for Mrs. Quinton Lovelace, 45, and her infant son who died February 18. The Rev. W. C. McGarity officiated and interment was in Sunset Lawns. The Kirby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A resident of El Dorado since 1932, Mrs. Lovelace was born February 18, 1915 at Guthrie, Oklahoma. She and Mr. Lovelace were married in 1956. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Her home was at 924 Oak.

Surviving are Mr. Lovelace, three daughters, and two sons, Monica and Peggy Payne and Theresa Ann Lovelace of the home; Willie L. Robison of Cleveland, Ohio, and Elroy Robison, serving with the armed forces in Spain and her mother, Mrs. Blanche Bumpus of Oklahoma City. (Butler County News, Feb. 25, 1960)

MARSHALL, ELVIRA

Mrs. Elvira Marshall, widow of C. R. Marshall, died at the home of her daughters, Mrs. J. D. Nixon, near Haverhill, Friday night of a complication of diseases induced by the infirmities of age. Funeral services have not been announced but probably will be held Sunday afternoon. Burial will take place in Sutton cemetery. Besides, Mr. Nixon she is survived by five sons, Edward Marshall, Thomas Marshall and James Marshall, all of Haverhill vicinity and Frank Marshall and Walter Marshall, now living in Illinois. Mrs. Marshall is a pioneer having removed to Kansas about 24 years ago. (El Dorado Times, Saturday, April 29, 1916)

McKAIG, WILLIAM

Services will be held at the Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock for William McKaig, 82, who died of a heart attack Tuesday, February 23, at his home, Leon route three.

The Rev. C. M. Nutter, pastor of the Leon Methodist Church, will officiate.

A retired farmer and stockman, Mr. McKaig was born in Ireland and came to Kansas in 1903. He had served on the township board and was a member of the Masonic and Elks Lodges. He is survived by a niece Mrs. Novie Hoover (Jean McKaig) of the home.

Mrs. Hoover is a teacher in the El Dorado School system. (Butler County News, Feb. 25, 1960)

McMURRAY, ZELLA J.

Mrs. Zella J. McMurray, 76, a former resident of Cassoday and of Newton, died thi spast Saturday at Bartlesville, Okla.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at Bartlesville, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. The Rev. Louis Dale, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church at Newton, officiated.

Mrs. McMurray was born at Shenadoah, Iowa, on March, 20, 1893. She was married to the late Glenn McMurray at Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 29, 1913. She lived at Newton most of her life.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Paul Warner or Bartlesville, a son, Loren W. McMurray of Northville, Mich.; five sisters, Mrs. Donna Wagner of Matfield Green, Mrs. Harper Baughman of Ponca City, Okla., Mrs. Mary Ann Dudley of Buena Vista, Colo., Mrs. John Krebs of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Vonnie Tudor of Newton and three brothers, Frank B. Plummer of Newton, Forrest Plummer of Cassoday and Virgil Plummer of Hutchinson. There are five grandchildren.

Mrs. McMurray was preceded in death by her husband. He died in 1955. (El Dorado Times, November 24, 1970)

MILLER, GEORGE V.

George V. Miller, 83, of Bronson, retired self employed laborer, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1987. The service was scheduled for today at Dayton Cemetery, Devon.

Survivors include son, Jerry of Kansas City, Kans., daughter, Sarah Ann Adams of Eatontown, N.J., stepson Kenneth Frinfrock, of El Dorado, stepdaughter, Joan Armour of Fort Scott, brother, Ralph of Kansas City, Mo., sister, Ruth Turner of Ottawa; two grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren.

MILLER, HELEN MAXINE

Helen Maxine Miller, 58, of Cassoday, died Monday morning at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cassoday United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Cassoday Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Lawrence, the daughter of Merlyn "Andy" and Marjorie Jesse (Neumayer) Andrew. As a small child, she lived in DeSoto. She married Harry L. Miller in Newton, April 25, 1948. She and her husband made their home in the Cassoday area since 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cassoday United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband, Harry L.; two sons, Craig and Phillip, both of Stillwater, Okla.; two daughters, Karan Karsten of Baxter Springs, and Karol McLaren of Cassoday; her father, Merlyn "Andy" Andrew of Cassoday; one sister, Hazel Marlene Hinde of Cassoday; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother. Memorial has been established with the Cassoday United Methodist Church. Kirby Morris Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. (El Dorado Times, Dec. 15, 1987)

Services were held Thursday for Helen Maxine Miller, 58, of Cassoday. She died Monday, Dec. 14, 1987 at Cassoday. Reverend Elaine Lord officiated at the services which were held at the Cassoday United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Cassoday Cemetery.

Kay Burden was organist. Robert Simmons was vocalist. Musical selections included "The Old Rugged Cross," and "How Great Thou Art."

Casketbearers were Gene Williams, Allen Unruh, Roger Hall, Mike Miller, Mark Hinde, Randall Hinde. Honorary bearers were Ralph Prewitt, Donald Johnson, Robert Harsh and Chuck Hodges. (El Dorado Times, Dec. 21, 1987)

MINARD, ARTHUR N.

Funeral services for Arthur N. Minard, 70, Peabody were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the United Methodist Church of Potwin. Burial followed at the Potwin Cemetery.

Mr. Minard died Aug. 5, 1987.

The Rev. Larry Ankron officiated at the services. Alta Crawford at the organ, played the prelude and the postlude. Rick McNary was the soloist.

Casket bearers were Don Whiteside, Carroll Logan, LeRoy Dalke, John Mellott, Max Brewer and Willard Haas.

NICKERN, ZONA GAY (MRS. HENRY)

Zona Gay (Mrs. Henry) Nickern, 72, of Arkansas City, retired music teacher and owner of A. C. Music Studio, died Saturday.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Survivors are two brothers, Troy Mulkey of Cassoday and Jim Mulkey of Pasadena, Tex., and a sister, Allen Langford of Coral Gables, Fla. (El Dorado Times, May 31, 1976)

PANKRATZ, GERHARD G.

Gerhard G. Pankratz, 95, died Sunday at Bethal Deaconess Hospital, Newton. He was the father of Theodore J. Pankratz, Cassoday and Gus A. Pankratz, Augusta.

He was born in Marion County and later went to Whitewater, where he lived until 1938 when he moved to Newton. He was a farmer and carpenter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Mennonite Church, Newton. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Draper-Cannon Funeral Home is in charge. (El Dorado Times, July 14, 1975)

PEIL, FREIDA FERN (MRS. HOWARD)

Graveside services for Mrs. Howard (Freida Fern) Peil, 65, of Oklahoma City, Okla., will be Thursday afternoon 3:30 p.m. at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Mrs. Peil was born Dec. 10, 1909 at Cassoday. She was graduated from the Susan B. Allen School of Nursing in 1940. She was a floor supervisor at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City until 1961, when ill health forced her to retire. She died Monday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include her husband, Howard A., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her mother, Mrs. Anna L. Hall, Larned; three brothers, Kenneth Blackmore, Colorado Springs, Montford Blackmore, Englewood, Colo.; Donald Blackmore, Jamestown, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. Irene Hall and Mrs. Patricia Jones, Larned and Mrs. Faye Thompson, Wichita.

Frank B. Plummer, 80, of Newton, a retired employee of Central Securities, Inc., died Sunday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Draper-Cannon Funeral Home, Newton.

Survivors are his wife, Maybelle of the home; two brothers, Forrest of Cassoday and Virgil of Hutchinson; four sisters, Mrs. Vonnie Tudor of Newton; Mrs. Dora Baughman of Bartlesville, Okla., Mrs. Ann Dudley of Buena Vista, Colo., and Mrs. Donna Wagner of Matfield Green. RADER, MAUDE V.

Maude V. Rader, 83, of Douglass, died Friday, March 18, 1988, at the Douglass Medical Lodge. She was born Jan. 8, 1905, at New Haven, Ind., the daughter of Ralph W. and Ethel Libby Null. As a child, she and her family moved to Pratt, where she attended school.

She married William M. Rader in 1920 and they lived in Great Bend area before moving to Wichita in 1940. She worked at Boeing Military Aircraft Co., during World War II. Later she served as salad hostess at the Lassen Hotel, then at Bond Bakery, Teerless Pie Company and was dietary cook at Mount Carmel Girls School. She retired in 1956. She was a resident of Wichita for more than 44 years.

She moved to Douglass in 1984 where she lived with her son. She was a former member of the Glenville Bible Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Billy D., of Valley Center, Scott L. of Douglass, two sisters, Pauline Stacey of Pratt and Jane Brungardt of McPherson, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday at Wilmont (Kansas) Cemetery. Miles Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial has been established with Douglass Medical Lodge. BOUCHER, EARL HARVEY

Earl Harvey Boucher, 86, a resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital Fredonia, Kansas. He was born April 29, 1921 in Butler County, Kansas, the son of Harley O. and Flora Theetge Boucher.

On May 8, 1944 in El Dorado, Kansas, he married Armetha M. Lee. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2007.

Earl and Armetha lived in New Albany, Kansas for 20 years, moved to Lamar, Missouri, where they resided for 30 years, and then to Altoona in 1996. Earl worked for Boeing until 1952 then he became a full time farmer. He was member of the Altoona First Christian Church.

Survivors, include: One daughter, Barbara and husband Don Vaughn of Fredonia. Two sons, Wayne Boucher of Altoona, and Clint and wife Cara Boucher of Joplin, Missouri, One brother, Raymond Boucher of Augusta. Eight Grandchildren and Twelve Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jerry Boucher and Edward Boucher; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Countryside Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Brodbeck of the First Christian Church in Fredonia officiating. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name with the Fredonia Flag Fund and may be sent to the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, Fredonia, Kansas.

BOUCHER, ARMETHA MARIE

Armetha Marie Boucher, 81, a resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. She was born May 7, 1926 in Severy, Kansas, the daughter of Ichabod Lloyd and Marie Esther (Condon) Lee.
On May 8, 1944 in El Dorado, Kansas, she married Earl H. Boucher. He survives at their home.

Earl and Armetha lived in New Albany, Kansas for 20 years, moved to Lamar, Missouri, where they resided for 30 years, and then to Altoona in 1996. Armetha was a licensed practical nurse at the Barton County Hospital in Lamar for 10 years, retiring in 1991.

She was member of the Altoona First Christian Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Earl, include:
One daughter & son-in-law: Barbara and Don Vaughn of Fredonia, KS.;Two sons & daughter-in-law: Wayne Boucher of Altoona, KS., Clint and Cara Boucher of Joplin, MO.;Two sisters, Delma Copp of Augusta, KS.
Sharon Milner of Fredonia, KS.; Sister-in-law, Betty Lee of Wichita, KS.; Eight Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ersel Lee; two sons, Jerry Boucher and Edward Boucher; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Brodbeck of the First Christian Church in Fredonia officiating. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name with the Fredonia Flag Fund and may be sent to the funeral home.
