Lloyd E. Carr, Douglass, died on Friday, April 28, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Douglass.
His survivors are: sons, Lloyd, Jr., Leonard, Billy, Rodger, Jim and David Carr; daughters, Georgie Pelkey, Carla Roberts, Cathy Carr, and Linda Suter; sisters, Eunice Wallace, Velma Piwetz, and Marie Hart; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

Walter Howard Deen, 79, El Dorado, retired machinist and equipment operator, died on Thursday, April 27, 2006.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the funeral home.
Mr. Deen was born on March 1, 1927 in Caney, the son of Ron and Myrtle (Hart) Deen. He attended schools in Caney and graduated from high school. For many years he worked as a machinist and equipment operator and retired from Skelly, Getty and Texaco refineries. On June 14, 1947, he was united in marriage to Faye Newby. They came to El Dorado in 1954. He was known for his music. He played guitar many years for the Westernaires and Prairie Rain in concerts around Kansas.
Surviving family include: his wife, Faye of the home; son, Lance Deen of Augusta, sisters, Beatrice Courtney of Bonner Springs, Betty DeGarmo of Wichita, and Patty Winebrenner of Everett, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Barb Deen; grandchildren, Sarah, Caitlin, Jarrett, Branson, Brett, Shynne, Chancey, Christy, and Sherry; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son, David Deen and daughter, DeAngalea Howard.

Robert E. Harrelson, 48, Augusta, Koch Industries tool & dye maker, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2006.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Robert was born in Tulsa, Okla., on July 11, 1957, the son of Clifford Harrelson and Shirley (Miller) Alcorn. They preceded him in death. On May 27, 1978, he married Vicki (Sibley) in Augusta. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Matthew Harrelson; daughter, Valerie Duff and her husband, Tim; brother, Wayne Harrelson and his wife, Alexa; grandchildren, Shelby and Braedon Duff; father and mother-in-law, Russell and Sondra Sibley; brother-in-law, David Sibley, all of Augusta; sisters-in-law, Debra Gragg and husband, John of Olathe and Loretta Ramsey and husband, Mike of Park city; nephews, James and Robert Trout, and Jeremey and Jameson Gragg; niece, Emily Ramsey.

Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dassa Carter at 7 o'clock p.m. January 26, Elizabeth E. Leatherman aged 71 years.
Elizabeth A. Smith was born in Tippacanoe county, Indiana in 1843, and married to Abraham Leatherman in 1862. They moved to Wilson county, Kansas in 1869 and in 1880 moved to Leon. In 1893 they came to El Dorado when Mr. Leatherman died in 1899.
Mrs. Leatherman was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years. She leaves three children. Frank Leatherman of Beaumont, Mrs. Florence Craven of Keighley and Mrs. Dassa carter of this place all of whom were with her at the time of her death.
The funeral services will be held at the home at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, conducted by rev. H. waitt and interment will be made at the Fowler Cemetery in Leon. (Walnut Valley Times, February 2, 1906, Volume XXXVII, Number 2)
Joseph McGahan died at his home south of El Dorado after an illness of several years.
Mr. McGahan with his family moved here from Illinois in the early 70's and has lived here in Butler County since. He has been a devout Christian for many years.
He leaves an aged wife, and sons William McGahan of Chelsea, Fetrow and Andrew McGahan of Burns; Chas. McGahan of Macon, Mo.; Riley and Harvey McGahan, who lived at home and a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Bocdy of El Dorado.
The funeral was held at the home January 26 conducted by Rev. S. W. Brown and interment was made in the West Cemetery. (Walnut Valley Times, February 2, 1906, Volume XXXVII, Number 2)
McMILLEN, THEODORE D. "BIG MAC"
Theodore David "Big Mac" McMillen, 73, Augusta, died Wednesday, April 19, at his home.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hillside Funeral Home Augusta.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Use the 12th Street entrance.
Visitation will be possible from 4 to 8 o'clock this evening at the funeral home.
He was born June 21, 1932 in Pilgrim, Mo., as the son of W.O. and Zella Drisdel McMillen.
Mr. McMillen served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He retired from Beech Aircraft in 1994 after 38 years of service.
He was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists Aerospace Workers union. He held several positions with IAMAW Local Lodge 733 and was a union negotiator for 15 years. Mr. McMillen was a 32nd Degree Mason and lived in Augusta for 46 years.
His parents preceded him in death as well as two brothers, a sister, and three nephews.
Survivors are Clara, his wife of 49 years; son Tim McMillen of Andover; daughters Teresa McMillen of Atlanta, Ga., Cheryl Glaze and her husband Steve of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren; Jennifer East, David Glaze, Bill Glaves and his wife Miranda; great-grandchildren: Carlee and Kendall East, William Cash Glaze. He also leaves brother Clarence McMillen of Odessa, Mo., and a sister, Francis Weibert of Scott City.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS, 67211 have been suggested.

Robert L. Montgomery, 77, Augusta, World War II Air Force veteran and retired Boeing employee, passed away on May 4, 2006.
Visitation until 5 p.m. today; funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, both at All Faiths Funeral Services in Wichita. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
His survivors include: sons, Vernon and David Montgomery, both of Wichita; daughter, Rhonda Schwind of Wichita; brother, John Montgomery of El Dorado; sister, Helen Burch of Augusta; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Vern and Nettie Montgomery; brother, William Montgomery, and sisters, Elsie Montgomery and Verna Feeley.

Charles J. "Jack" Pratt, 85, El Dorado, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2006.
The Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6 p.m. this evening; the Celebration of Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, both at St. John's Catholic Church, El Dorado. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
Mr. Pratt was born on Sept. 17, 1920, in El Dorado, the son of Lawrence and Anna (Ellis) Pratt. He attended school at Jefferson Elementary and graduated from El Dorado High School with the Class of 1940. He served his country in World War II in the Air Force. While stationed in Chicago, he met and married Virginia Eroncig on June 8, 1943. He also served in England and France. He returned to El Dorado and worked at Skelly Refinery for 36 years and retired working on the Coker unit.
His memberships included: St. John's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post and the VFW. He loved working in his yard. Every year he collected walnuts and he spent many hours making bowls, plates, and rosaries from the walnut shells for his family and friends.
His survivors include: his wife, Virginia of the home; sons, Chuck Pratt of El Dorado, Larry and his wife, Leora Pratt of Siloam Springs, Ark., Bob and his wife, Lisa Pratt of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Virginia and her husband, David Berndsen of Augusta, Cassie and her husband, Wayne Morton, Jackie and her husband, R.P. Simon, Rita and her husband, Jack Castleman, Mary and her husband, Mark Long, all of El Dorado, Theresa and her husband, Mike Wilber of Pine Top, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Sandee Pratt of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Tony Range of Cincinnati, Ohio; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by son, James, granddaughter, Angelic Long, his parents and two brothers.
Memorials have been established with St. Vincent DePaul or the Hospice Care of Kansas.
