Frances L. Faulkner, 86, of El Dorado, died Thursday, at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kirby Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 19, 1914 to James F and Elizabeth (Wells) Gordon in Chanute. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1933.
On Sept. 16, 1933, she was married to Edward C. Buck Faulkner in Chanute. They moved to the El Dorado area in 1935. She was a homemaker and a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and SAMS Travel Club. Some of her favorite pastimes were listening, singing and dancing to music, bowling and fishing with Buck. She loved to travel and go camping with family and friends. She was a real sports fan, as long as her grandchildren were the ones participating. Her family was her life and she as a great supporter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: her husband of the home; a son, Larry and his wife Carol Faulkner of Ft. Scott; daughters, Joy Howrey of Towanda and Lynda and husband Don Varner of Towanda, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Lyndon Gordon, a son-in-law, Darrel Howrey; and a grandson, James Howrey.

Gerda Corinne Wootten Fisher, 85, of El Dorado, died peacefully at her home Sunday morning, Sept. 17, 2006. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at Kirby Morris Funeral Home. Entombment will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the rose Hill Mausoleum in Chickasha, Okla.
Gerda was born July 21, 1921 in Clayton, N.M., the daughter of Richard Kelly and Vendla Eklund Wootten Jr. The family moved to Chickasha, Okla., when she was a young girl. She graduated from Monticello Preparatory School in Godfrey, Ill., and then attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. She was in the Kappa Kappa gamma Sorority. She met her husband Lewis Byron Fisher, sr. at Norman, Okla., and they were married Sept. 26, 1942 at the Epworth Methodist Church in Chickasha, Okla. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1991. They came to El Dorado in 1948. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved to play bridge with her friends especially with the Dauntless Dame, gardening, collecting cut glass, playing cards and traveling kept her young.
Survivors include: three sons, Lewis Byron and his wife Terryl Fisher Jr., and Stephen Gregory and his wife Lindy Fisher, both of Dallas, Texas., and Jim Clayton and wife Liz Fisher of Wichita, sister, Vendla Reardon of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Meredith Gullic, Derek Fisher, Elizabeth Fisher, Kelly Fisher, Todd Fisher, and Kevin Fisher; and five great-grandchildren Jade, Alexis, Jordan, Austin and Alyssa.

Woodrow W. Woody Fisher, 86, of El Dorado, died unexpectedly Saturday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita.
He was born Oct. 12, 1914 to James Leonard and Annie Lou (Ballard) Fisher in Milldale, Tenn. He served in the Military reserves until being drafted, and then he served in the Army Engineers Corps. He was a principal and basketball coach at Mulvane for four years before going to Wichita, where he was principal at OK Elementary school for 30 years. He retired in June 1985. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado, serving as a member of the Session, trustees and a deacon; the American Legion; and an officer of Butler County Community College Booster Club. He also delivered Meals on Wheels.
On Sept. 25, 1943, he was married to Lee Keil. She died on Jan. 17, 1976. He later married Glenda Anderson on June 17, 1977 in Wichita.
Survivors include: his wife of the home, children and their spouses, Anne and Gary Collinsworth of Wichita, Kathleen and Tim Vorlage of Britton, S. D., Mary and Blake Anderson of Hunker, Penn., Tim and Sherry Anderson of Bakersfield, Calif., Mark and Vickie Anderson of Oklahoma City, and Jill and Bill Moore of Casper, Wyo., eight grandsons, and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, three brothers and one sister.

Rozena S. Flomerfelt, 97, of Wichita, formerly of Eureka, and El Dorado, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at the Prairie Homestead Health Care Center in Wichita. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31 at the Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home in Eureka with the Rev. Bill L. Shook of Prairie Homestead officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka.
She was born Feb. 19, 1902 near Climax, to Edward Benedict and Julia (Estes) Stuber. Her early years were spent in the Climax community where she attended school. Following her graduation from Climax High School, she received her normal training and began teaching in Greenwood County rural schools, including Climax, Dunlap, Sallyards and Eureka.
On May 24, 1933, she married William Miles Flomerfelt at Eureka. They made their home in Eureka and she continues her teaching career. In 1936, they moved to El Dorado, where she was a substitute teacher in the El Dorado schools and later taught at Latham.
In 1938, Bill and Rozena moved to Wichita to make their home and in 1941, she became a caseworker for the Sedgwick County Welfare Department. She remained in that position until her mandatory retirement on March 1, 1972 when she reached the age of 70.
Bill preceded her in death April 25, 1960. She continued to reside in Wichita where she was a member of the Wichita Business and Professional Women (BPW) and was a longtime member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where she was very involved in Sunday school classes and worship there.
In 1979, health concerns caused her to move to Prairie Homestead to reside until her passing.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews along with a host of friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Fred Stuber, Albert Stuber, Granville Stuber and Virgil Stuber and three sisters, Eva Wools, Mary Lyon and Getta Geeding.

Carl Merle Foster, 59, of Towanda, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006 at his home in Towanda. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Towanda United Methodist Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Towanda Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6 7:30 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1948 in Wichita, the son of Harold and Neva (Marlatt) Foster. He moved to Towanda in 1954 and graduated from Circle High School in 1967. He then went to Wichita Automotive School, graduating in 1968. In May 1968 he joined the United States Navy, retiring in February 1993. He returned to Towanda in May 1998 and went to work for Cheney Garage Door Company of Wichita.
In February 2001 he married Jessie Hefton in El Dorado. He was a lifetime member of the VFW; Sergeant of Arms of the Kansas Vietnam Veterans; and a member of the United Methodist Church of Christ in Townada.
Survivors include: his wife, Jessie of the home; five sons, Mike Foster of Towanda, Kevin Foster of Greensboro, N.C., James Davis and wife Kelli of Rosalia; Charles Hefton and wife Michelle of Benton and Chet Hefton and wife Lynn of Rosalia; one daughter, Roberta June Seaman and husband Julian of Emporia, 15 grandchildren, and a sister and her husband, Alene and Lewis Wilson of Towanda.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve Foster, 46, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Wesley Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Kirby Morris Funeral Home. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
He was born May 3, 1954 to Donald B. and Betty (Graham) Foster in Leavenworth. He graduated from Lansing High School in 1972.
On April 8, 1982, he was married to Diane S. Munro in Clovis, N.M. in the Parkland Baptist Church. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1972 to 1996. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Raytheon Aircraft in Wichita in final assembly. He was a member of the Prospect Baptist Church, V.F. W. and Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife of the home, a son, Brian of the home, his mother, of Overland Park, and a brother, Larry Foster of Henderson, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Charles E. Frazier, 86, of Emporia, died Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Newman Memorial County Hospital in Emporia. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 at the First Christian Church in El Dorado, with Rev. Stanley Seymour officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 that afternoon at the Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia. A place for interment has not been decided upon yet.
He was born Aug. 10, 1914 to William Lewis and Eva Myrtle (Swonger) Frazier in Pratt County. On Nov. 11, 1937, he was married to Cecile Faye Lacy at Bucklin.
He worked for the Jarvis Auto Supply Company in Wellington and El Dorado for 41 years. He had been retired 14 years. He was a member of the Lions Club in Wellington. He was a resident of the Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Survivors include: his wife, sons, Richard Frazier of Los Gatos, Calif., Chuck Frazier of Emporia, Martin Frazier, of Raleigh, N.C., and Roger Frazier of Purcellville, Va., a sister, Marie Imel of Bucklin, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Irvin Friesen, 86, of Whitewater, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at the Swiss Church in Whitewater with Rev. Pastor Dale Janzen and Rev. Arnold Ensz officiating. Interment will be in Whitewater Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 29, and from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Lamb-Nutter Mortuary in Whitewater.
He was born Feb. 3, 1913 at Hillsboro to Bernard and Sarah (Kroeker) Friesen. On Oct. 23, 1945, he married Olga Reimer at Goessel. She survives.
He was a member of the Swiss Church. He formerly was employed at the Whitewater Flour Mill and later as a custodian for U.S. D. 206. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gerald Friesen and Robert Friesen, both of Wichita, four sisters, Velma Schmidt of Newton, Rosella of Wichita, Alvera Alexander of Augusta and Lena Janzen of Lyons and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Weldon J. Friesen, 75, of Wichita, died Friday, at Wichita. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Towanda Cemetery with Rev. Tim OByrne officiating.
He was born April 13, 1926 to Frank E. Friesen and Susie Bartel in Halstead. He was a machinist for Skelly, Texaco, Getty Refinery. He had lived in Wichita for over 40 years.
On July 10, 1959 he was married to Vivian Rosalee OByrne at Wichita.
Survivors include his wife of the home, a son, Mark Friesen of Park City, a sister, Irene Warkentine of Moses Lake, Wash., and three grandchildren.
