FATHER O’SULLIVAN HAD PART IN MASS

The Rev. Father T.J. O’Sullivan, pastor St. John’s Catholic Church, of El Dorado, had a prominent part in the solemn requiem mass, which was celebrated at the Catholic Cathedral at Wichita yesterday morning for the late Right Rev. Bishop John J. Hennessey. The occasion was the first anniversary of his death.

Bishop Hennessey’s successor, the Right Rev. Bishop August J. Schwertner, was the celebrant of the mass, which was participated in by all the Catholic Churches in Wichita. The Right Rev. Msgr. E.B. Hull, of Winfield, and Father O’Sullivan were the out-of-town members of the clergy who were officers of the mass.

Special services were held yesterday morning at every Catholic Church in the Wichita Diocese for the late Bishop Hennessey. (El Dorado Times ~ Thursday, 14 July 1921 ~ Transcribed by Lori DeWinkler)
