PANGRAC, BERNICE

Bernice Pangrac, 99, Augusta, formerly of Junction City, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007.

Funeral service was held today at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City. Burial followed at the Greenville Cemetery, north of Niles.

Mrs. Pangrac was born on Sept. 4, 1907 in Centerville, Iowa to William O. and Flora E. (Main) Hiatt. Over the years she worked as a medical receptionist, secretary to superintendent of schools USD 475, she was the Geary County Auto Clerk (a division of the Geary County Treasurer's office) and as a homemaker. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She married Perry W. Pangrac on Aug. 11, 1929. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1989.

She is survived by: one son, Duane Pangrac of Augusta; one daughter, Mrs. Roberta Kelly of Junction City; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist church, 804 N. Jefferson, Junction City, 66441.

PERKINS, PATSY J.

PERRY ZELLA IRENE

Zella Irene Perry,70, retired registered nurse of Wichita formerly of El Dorado, died Dec. 28, 1990 in Windsor, Conn. Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Mortuary Chapel with burial following in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

She was born April 25, 1920 in New Kirk, Okla. to John Wesley and Retta Mae Haskins Munsell.

Surivovrs include: son, Michael Perry of Wichita, daughter, Linda Hutson, of Wichita, brother, Clarence Munsell of Tolland, Conn.; four grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc. (El Dorado Times, Jan. 2, 1991)

PICKRELL, RONALD D.

Services for Ronald D. Pickrell of 303 South Arthur, who died Sept. 27, were held Saturday afternoon at the Dietz-Carlson Colonial Chapel with burial in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

The Rev. Richard Zimmerman, pastor of the Park Avenue Baptist Church officiated. Mrs. Amos B. Marsh played selected organ music and trumpet solos were played by Kevin Pickrell and Kirk Swilley.

Casket bearers were Mark Ralston, Ed Gard, Kirk Swilley, Bill Needham Jr., Gary Hershberger and Randy Hershberger.

Flag folders were Gene Carlson and Ronn Hiese. Taps was played by John Templin and Doug Talbott. (El Dorado Times, Oct. 2, 1979)

PORTER, TROY D.

Troy D. Porter, 30, of Douglass, Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping Service, Inc. employee, passed away, Friday, April 20, 2007.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today with a wake service at 7 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home, Augusta. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Douglass. Burial will be at Douglass Cemetery.

Troy was a graduate of St. John's Military School.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kip.

Survivors include his wife, Becky, children, Conner (8), Owen (6), Evan (3 months), mother and stepfather, Barbara and Gary Wallace of Henderson, NV, sisters, Liz Pfeifer of Denver, Misi and Todd Mattix of Douglass; brother, Douglas Porter of Andover, sister, Virginia Porter of Andover, six nephews and two nieces and lots of friends.

POTTER, EUNICE LEONARD

Potter-Leonard, Eunice, 96, died June 14, 2005. Service 10 a.m. Friday, Carlson Funeral Home. Survivors include son: Dale Potter, stepdaughters, Alise Protho, Sharon Blake, Norene Reed, sister, Velma Shernberg; 5 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. POWER, SHERMAN CHARLES

Sherman Charles Power, aged 12 days, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey D. Power, 422 North Taylor Street died last night. Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at West Cemetery, Rev. M. O. Clemmons, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated. (El Dorado Times, Feb. 11, 1922)

PUTNAM, HERBERT L.

Herbert L. Putnam, aged 63 years, son of J. R. Putnam, of Chelsea, died yesterday at his home at Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Putnam had been confined to his bed three years with a heart ailment. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at Los Angeles.

Mr. Putnam lived for years in El Dorado and was associated with the late J. T. Oldham in the furniture and undertaking business here. After going to Los Angeles, Mr. Putnam was engaged in the furniture business. His last visit to Butler County was eight years ago. Surviving Mr. Putnam are: his widow, who was Miss Harriet Betts, of El Dorado, before her marriage, a son Harold Putnam Jr. of San Francisco and two brothers, S. A. Putnam and D. H.
