REEVES, JOHN W.

Graveside rites for John W. Reeves, 69, of Melbourne, Fla., who died Wednesday, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Sunset Lawns cemetery. Rev. Ivan H. Hansen pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate. Friends may call at the Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home on Sunday.

Mr. Reeves had lived in Florida since 1960, moving there from Lincoln, Neb. where he had been associated with lee A. Ow in the real estate and insurance business.

He was an employee of the Shell Oil co for 28 years and also worked at the Boeing Co.

He was a member of the Melbourne First Christian church. Other memberships included the Columbus, Kan., Prudence Lodge No. 100, A. F. & A. M., the Fort Scott Kan., Consistory, the American legion of Melbourne and the Galena, Kan., York Rite.

He was born Oct. 31, 1894, at Columbus and was married to Birdene Ow on Aug. 14, 1923, at El Dorado. She survives.

Additional survivors include: a son, Keith W. of Melbourne, one brother, Jeffe Reeves of Columbus, four sisters, Mrs. Goldie Slease of Topeka, Mrs. Lena Duncan, Arkansas city, Mrs. Myrtle Scovell of Columbus and Mrs. Rosa Davis, San Bruno, Calif., and three grandchildren. REYNOLDS, MAUDE

Mrs. Maude Reynolds, 79, of Latham died Tuesday afternoon at Valley View Convalescent home.

Mrs. Reynolds, a native of Butler County, was born near Latham on jan. 9, 1884, and was married to Edward b. Reynolds at Grenola on May 22, 1906.

She was a member of the Latham Baptist church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.

Survivors include a son, Edwin Reynolds, Wichita, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Latham Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Mohlstrom, Augusta officiating. Burial will be in the Latham Cemetery.

RILEY, ANNA PEARL

Services were held Monday afternoon at the Dunsford Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Anna Pearl Riley, 80, of Augusta. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery. Dr. C. Wm. Nichols was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Riley passed away Saturday at St. Francis hospital in Wichita. She was born Oct. 31, 1883 at Mt. Vernon, Wash., the daughter of Thomas and Laura Jane Newland. She was married to Znzi Crow Riley October 26, 1905 at Newkirk, Okla. Her husband preceded her in death in 1956.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Therza Stinnitt of Augusta and Mrs. Letha Walworth of Hennessey, Okla., two sons, Orbille A. of Caney and Walter A. of Sulphur, La.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. (El Dorado Times, Feb. 3, 1964)

ROBERSTON, ABBIE THOMAS GREEN

Mrs. Abbie Thomas Green Robertson, a former resident of the Leon community, died suddenly Saturday at Neodesha, Kans. She was 78 years old.

Mrs. Robertson spent much of her childhood in Butler county.

Funeral services will be held at the Davis Funeral Home at Neodesha Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Robertson, Neodesha, and a son, Harold J. Robertson, of Rogers, Ark. (El Dorado Times, July 16, 1964)

RICHEY, NELLIE JANE

Richey Services 2:30 Wednesday

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Dunsford Chapel for Nellie Jane Richey, 73, Route 3, who died Sunday at her home. Dr. C. W. Nichols will conduct the services. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Nellie Jane Richey was born September 15, 1892 in Cloud County, the daughter of Lewis and Margaret Bohannon. She was married to Robert Ralph Richey in El Dorado on Sept 5, 1912.

Survivors include Mr. Richey; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Flanery of Dubuque, Iowa; three sons, Marvin of Liberty, MO; Lawrence of Wichita and Raymond of Bushton; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hutcheson of Wichita, Mrs. Stella Meredith of Manhattan and Mrs. Minnie Powell of Wamego; and 11 grandchildren.  (Augusta Daily Gazette, Monday, January 24, 1966 ~ Transcribed by Judy Mayfield)

RICHEY, ROBERT RALPH

Robert Richey Rites Saturday

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the Dunsford Funeral Home for Robert Ralph Richey, 77, who died Thursday at the St. Francis hospital in Wichita. The Rev. Daniel E. Bailey will conduct the services. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Robert Ralph Richey was born September 7, 1891 at Udall, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Berger) Richey. He was married to Nellie Jane Bohannon at El Dorado on Sept. 5, 1912. She preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 1966.

He retired from the Mobil Oil Corp., refinery here in 1956.

Survivors include three sons, Marvin of Independence, Lawrence of Wichita and Raymond of Bushton; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Flanery of Augusta; three sisters, Jesse Canfield and Sabra McCalla of Augusta and Elizabeth Davis of Arizona; and 11 grandchildren.  (Augusta Daily Gazette, Saturday, February, 22, 1969 ~ Transcribed by Judy Mayfield)

RICHEY, FRED FUNSTON

Thursday Rites For Fred Richey

Funeral services will be Thursday for Fred Funston Richey, 77, of 813 Ohio, who died Sunday at the Sarah Watson Nursing Home in El Dorado.

Fred Funston Richey was born on October 7, 1887, in Cowley County. He was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Berger Richey.

He was united in marriage with Hazel Marie Hodson in Newton on April 11, 1932.

A former pipefitter for Magnolia Oil Company, he had been a resident of the surrounding area for most of his life. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Robert and John of Augusta; and three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Canfield and Mrs. Sabra McCalla both of Augusta and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis of Wilcox, Ariz.

The Rev. Ed McLachlan will be in charge of the services to be held in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.

RICHEY, OLIVE KEEN

Olive Richey, 75, Augusta, wife of Curtis Richey, died Monday, April 18.

Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Hillside Funeral Home, Augusta, Sixth & Walnut. Dr. Robert Box of First Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Richey was born Jan 7, 1918 in Gibson County, Indiana, as the daughter of Fred and Grace Keen.

After graduation from high school, she worked at a dime store until her marriage to her high school sweetheart Curtis Richey Nov. 19, 1937.

Mr. & Mrs. Richey traveled much of the time because of his employment and lived in most states of the United States including Alaska. They also spent some time in Canada.

Olive and Curtis made thier home in Augusta upon his retirement in 1978.

She was the secretary at Circle High School for a number of years.

Mrs. Richey was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Round Table Club.

In addition to her husband she leaves two daughters, Connie McMurphy of Augusta and Claudia Richey of Wichita; a sister, Bernice Fretz of Harlingen, Texas and three grandchildren, Patrick McMurphy, Kyle Richey and Kevin Richey.
