John Q. Ramsey, 78, of El Dorado, died Friday at the home of his son in Cabot, Ark. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 4, 1922 to John Q. and Romona Blakely Ramsey Sr., in Medford, Okla. He was a machinist by trade for many years and lived in El Dorado for a number of years, moving from Grove, Okla. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1947.
On Oct. 28, 1940, he was married to Sylvia Imogene Scott. She died in 1973. He later married Veva Mae Jantz on Oct. 11, 1975 and she preceded him in death Sept. 14, 1996.
Survivors include; a son, Rick Ramsey of Cabot, Ark.; daughters, Sylvia Traylor of Towanda, Pat Malone of White City, Linda Duncan of Benton, Cindy Roux of Lancaster, Calif., and Kristy Barber of White City; stepsons, Jim Jantz of El Dorado and Ron Jantz of Andover; a stepdaughter, Donna Guinn of Linwood, Wash.; a brother, Bob Ramsey of Medford, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald Eugene "Jere" Rice, 47, former Eureka resident, of Wichita, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at his home. Graveside services and burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2000 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with Dr. Terry Morris officiating. Cremation has taken place.
He was born April 9, 1953, in Eureka, the son of Lloyd O. Sr. and Virginia M. (Gaffney) Rice. He was raised in Eureka and attened Eureka schools, graduating from Pittsburg Vo-Tech School in Pittsburg. Following his graduation, he moved to Kingman and worked for Sears for a short time before moving to Wichita to make his home. He worked for Fahnestock Heating and Air Conditioning as a technician and later began his own business, Jere's Applicance in Wichita. He was a former member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge, Wichita Consistory and Midian Shrine, all in Wichita.
Survivors include: mother, Virginia Rice-Sowder of Eureka; sisters, Kay Rice of Eureka and Ann Marshall of Washington, Mo.; brother, Lloyd O. Rice Jr. of Eureka.
A memorial has been estblished in his name with the Eureka Carnegie Library. Contributions may be sent in care of the Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home of Eureka, which has the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, June 3, 2000)
Alyce M. Riggs, 84, Augusta, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2007.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 14, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the Ohio Street entrance.
Alyce was born on Aug. 10, 1922 in Augusta to F.Y. and Bessie (Hopper) Wedding. On Nov. 18, 1946 she married Landon Riggs in Butler County.
Mrs. Riggs served in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a member of the Augusta Church of Christ and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by: three daughters and two sons, Priscilla Templin of Augusta, Paige Hundemer of Spring, Texas, Curt (Judy) of Augusta, Walter Landon of New Braunfels, Texas, and Allyson (Jeff) Robinson of Mission; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Landon, son, John, and grandson, Neil.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Heartland Hospice or Augusta Church of Christ.

Neil Tucker Riggs, 18, Augusta, 54 U-Store employee, died Sunday, June 16, 2002.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
Survivors include: parents, Curt and Judy Riggs of Augusta; brother, Landon Riggs of Augusta; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Chuck Bird of Augusta; sister, Kristy Miller of Augusta; grandmother, Alyce Riggs, Augusta; grandparents, Marjorie and Bill Broadstock, Augusta; nieces, Laramie and Alex; nephew, Cody.
A memorial has been established at Bank of America in Augusta. The funds will go to improvements of the basketball court at the city pool.

Jeffery Douglas Rosine, of Peabody, an employee at Reliance Energy, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at his home.
Services were held at 10 a.m. today at Peabody United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Ragland and Pastor Jim Pohlman officiating. Interment was at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
He was born May 24, 1961 at Newton, the son of Don and Beverly Rosine.
Survivors include: his fiancee, Liz Cashner of Peabody; his parents, Don and Cheryl Rosine of Peabody and Beverly Rosine of Newton; three daughters, Jackie and Conroy Miller of Burns, Jessica Rosine of Peabody and Sabrina Cashner of Peabody; brothers, Randy and Janet Rosine of Duncan, Okla., Jim and Chris Philpott of Peabody, Aaron and Sarah Waddell of Marion and Andy Rosine of Wichita; sister, Amy and Randy Halcomb of Hurst, Texas; and one grandchild, Barrett "Bubba" Wayne Miller.
