The A. G. Sailers of Leon to be Honored at Open House April 12
Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Sailer, of Leon, will be guests of honor at an open house on Sunday, April 12, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Sailer will receive their friends and relatives in the parlor of the Christian Church of Leon between the hours of 2:30 and 5. They have asked that there be no gifts.
Hosts for the afternoon will be the three children and daughter-in-law and son-in-law of the couple. The family group includes John Sailer of Olathe, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Sailer and Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Mohler of Leon.
There are four grandchildren, Norman and Stephen Sailer and Eugenia Lea and Berry Ray Mohler, all of Leon.
Grace Ward and August Sailer were married on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1914, in the parsonage of the First Christian Church of Augusta. Rev. Neal Overman was the officiating minister.
The couple engaged in farming in the Haverhill community and lived in that vicinity until 25 years ago, when they moved to Leon.
Mr. Sailer was engaged in carpenter work for a period and later served as custodian for the Leon Grade School for eight years before his retirement.

John J. Hatteburg, Lisbon, Kendall county, Illinois, aged 43 years, has license to wed Miss Lillie Seglem who is 25 years old. Also Louie G. Green, 22 years and Miss Inger Seglem, 21 have the proper documents. A double wedding occurs tomorrow Feb. 18 at the Seglem home in Spring Township.
John MacRitchie announces the wedding on Dec. 2 of his daughter Vida, to Mr. Chas. F. Shriver of Towanda. The ceremony will occur at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. J. S. Hardie in Anthony. Rector L. G. Morony of El Dorado Episcopal Church will pronounce the solemn words uniting them for better or worse.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Storer held their fifth wedding anniversary at their home 8 miles northeast of town Monday night and a large crowd was present and had a good time. R. B. Rand and wife were in attendance. Mrs. Storer was Miss Sophia Bradley of El Dorado - Potwin News. (Walnut Valley Times, October 24, 1902)

Edgar A. Spaulding Jr. and Miss Harriet Geesling were married recently and will make their home on the Carter
lease on the Porter land. The bride is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Geesling, of Latham, and has been teaching school
in Hutchinson, having to teach during the present week in order to finish her contract. She is a charming educated
young woman and Mr. Spaulding is to be congratulated. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Spaulding, of Benton,
Butler County. He has a responsible position with the Carter company has head mechanic and is a reliable young
man, bound to get along well.
