Lawrence W. Bright, 70, of 407
North Washington, died early today at Allen Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's church with the Rev. Michael R. Blackledge, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. Bright had lived in El Dorado since 1941, coming here from Wichita. He was employed by the Hudson Battery and
Electric company for 10 years, and since 1951 had owned and operated a liquor store.
Mr. Bright was born at Wichita on Nov. 9, 1898, and was married to Rene Jenkins at Wichita on Oct. 7, 1926. A graduate
of Wichita High School, he attended Kansas State University for two years. Mr. Bright was a member of St. John's
church, of the Knights of Columbus, of the Elks and Moose lodges, and the El Dorado County club. He was a past
president of the Kansas Retail Liquor Dealers association.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Jenne O'Malley, of Neu Isenberg, Germany; and a son, William Bright, 218
South Washington. He was preceded in death by a sister.
A recitation of the Rosary is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday, and a recitation of the Rosary for the Knights of Columbus
will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Both will be at the Kirby Funeral Home chapel.

Sallie J. Cantrell, 96, formerly
of El Dorado, died Tuesday, April 20, 1993, in San Antonio, Texas. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday
in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 27, 1896, in Clabbertown, Texas, to A. B. and Sally Finch. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: sister, Abbie Whitehead; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband,
James L. Cantrell in 1968. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home as the arrangements.

CARLTON
CARLTON CARPENTER, 71, of El Dorado, retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. employee, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 1986.
Service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Survivors: wife, Mary; sons, Jim, Gary, both of Wichita; stepmother, Elsie Carpenter of Mound City; brother, Oral
of Pleasanton; stepbrother, Charlie Coon of Mapleton; seven grandchildren. Memorial has been established with the
American Heart Association.

Clarence Lee Cormicle, 75, a resident of El Dorado the past 30 years and retired employee of the El Dorado Revining company, died early this morning at his home, 1005 North Main.
Services will be held Monday, March 30, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton W. Hildebrand, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Cormicle came to El Dorado in 1929 from Coffeyville where he was employed by the Sinclair Oil company. He retired from the El Dorado Refining company in 1950 after 22 years' service.
Born in Vinita, Okla., on Jan. 29, 1884, he lived there until moving to Coffeyville in 1927. While in Vinita he served as chief of the town's fire department for 10 years.
He married Marie Taylor in Claremore, Okla., on Nov. 27, 1927. She survives. During World War I, Mr. Cormicle served on active duty with the National Guard.
He was a member of the First Christian Church at Vinita.
Other survivors are a son, Clarence
Lee, Jr., who lives in California; two step-sons, William L. Carson, 840 Audrey Drive, and Gerald E. Carson, Augusta;
a step-daughter, Mrs. Russell Eulmer, 1017 West Pine; two sisters, Mrs. Roy L. Fisher, Houston, and Mrs. Eva Blasingame,
Englewood, Calif.; three brothers, W.C. Cormicle, Conway Springs, Milton R. Cormicle, Beaumont, Texas, and Walter
Cormicle, Amarillo, Texas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters and four brothers preceded
him in death.

BROWN, ROY
RITES FOR ROY BROWN ARE HELD
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home Colonial Chapel at El Dorado for Roy Brown, 69, who was found dead in the basement of his home at Leon. Interment was in Walnut Valley Memorial Park at El Dorado.
Roy Brown was born at Hazelton and lived in the Leon community since 1936. He was a retired farmer and former employee of Cessna Aircraft Co., at Wichita.
Survivors include his widow, Helen;
a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Myers of Wichita and a sister, Mrs. Harold Clutter of Topeka.
