Larry R. Walden, Jr., 37, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Oklahoma. There will be a family visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday with cremation to follow the viewing. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1972 in Rockport, Mo., the son of Larry R. Walden, Sr., and Phyllis Stone. Larry received his GED in El Dorado and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a supervisor for T & T Inc. He was a member of American Veterans Motorcycle Club; enjoyed twisting on his bike, tinkering with his motorcycle; painting cars and motorcycles and hanging out with his Bike buddies.

Walden of St. Louis, Mo., his father, Larry Walden, Sr. of El Dorado, his mother, Phyllis Bagwell of Guthrie, Okla., sisters, Tammy Wilson and Angie Bushnell and husband Nate all of El Dorado; and brothers, Ben Walden of Towanda, Steve Walden of El Dorado and Scott Walden and wife Stephanie of Seattle, Wash.

Willis Russell waldorf, 71, of Collinsville, Okla., passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 in Collinsville, Okla.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at the Community Church with Rev. Helmer A. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Valley Cemetery in El Dorado.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the home, two daughters, Shari Sampson and her husband Don of Park City and Karla Hernandez and her husband Gustavo of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren, Trey and Graydon Sampson of Park City; one brother, Keith Waldorf of Towanda, one sister, Sally White of Topeka; one niece and several nephews.
He was born Dec. 8, 1934 to Graydon Waldorf and the former Vivian Willis in El Dorado. He grew up in Oil Hill. He later married Margaret Ridgway on June 10, 1956. He served 16 years with Naval Construction Battalion (CB's) sang with the choir at the Community Church where he was a member. He volunteered with Founders Day and the Tri-County Fair. He was a chemist/geologist with TRW.

Charmaine Janell "Jan" Walker, 48, of Little Elm, Texas, formerly of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004. She was an employee of Anderson Merchandiser in Denton, Texas. David D. "Dave" Walker, 78, retired Boeing Master Tooling Manufacturer of Augusta passed away Monday, March 22, 2010.

Burial will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.David was born in Latham, Kansas on April 29, 1931, the son of the late Alfred Dale and Lucretia F. (Oliver) Babb Walker. He was awarded several medals and received an Honorable Discharge from the U. S. Army in 1953 after he served with "C" Company, 820th Engineering Aviation Battalion, during the Korean War. David very much enjoyed his time with family and friends, traveling, hunting, fishing and playing guitar.
Dave is survived by daughters, Donna (Dee) Hennette and husband Richard of Wichita and Karen Poff and husband Tim of Carrollton, Texas, stepsons, Kenneth Allen and Todd Allen of El Dorado, sister, Josephine Ades, niece, Peggy Rutherford and husband Jim of Montrose, Colo., 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-nieces.

Darrell Thomas Walker, was born January 17, 1924, in Wichita. He left this earth on August 23, 2005 to join our Father in Heaven. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday, August 29 at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
He served in the U. S. Army and was awarded two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart for his meritorious service during World War II. He retired from Boeing in 1988 after 35 years. He sang and played lead guitar in country and western bands for 60 years.
Survivors include his wife, Luella, four sons, John of Kingman, Terry of Colorado, David of Colorado and Rick of El Dorado; three daughters, Darlene of Arizona, Vernadene of Eureka and Teresa of Girard, numerous grandchildren other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Thomas and one daughter, Wanda.

William W. "Winey" Webster, 91, of Augusta, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at his home in Augusta. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
He was born March 19, 1910 to Howard Lincoln and Bessie Elizabeth Wining Webster in McPherson County near Canton. He came to this area as a child and had lived here most of his life. He worked for Beech Aircraft from 1940 to 1945 and then at Skelly Refinery from 1945 to 1972. He also did plastering, wall papering and painting. He was a life member of AFL/CIO since 1945 and a life member of the Woodmen of the World.
On Oct. 5, 1931, he was married to Mary Kathryn Holiday at El Dorado. She preceded him in death on January 5, 1883. He later married Aurel Kathryn "Betty" (Moon) Hale. She also preceded him in death on January 21, 1995.
Survivors include: sons, Bill Webster of Collinsville, Okla., and Tom Webster of Augusta, a step-daughter Marquise Cox of Hutchinson; sisters, Maxine Pulver of Augusta and Pauline Johnston of Augusta; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, three sisters a son and a daughter.

He was an engineer for Hopkins Manufacturing in Emporia.

She was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Emporia, the daughter of Roy E. and Nola Lambert Cox. She married Charles R. Wescott on Dec. 31, 1949 in Emporia. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1994. Joan worked as a cook in restaurants and was a wonderful homemaker. She had lived in El Dorado since 1980, moving from Towanda.
She was a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary and loved to play bingo and do crafts and watch tv. She especially loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her younger days she enjoyed boating and spending time on the water.
Survivors include her children: Karen Arnold of El Dorado, Larry Wescott of Winfield, Leorna Kastner, John Wescott, Patricia Hess and Shelly Wheeler all of El Dorado, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Amy.

Helen White, 97, of El Dorado, died Sunday, September 12, 2004, at her home. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born April 5, 1907 in Richhill, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Wilcox) McKown. She came to Kansas as a young girl and graduated from Rosalia High School. On June 5,1933 she was united in marriage to Erman White in El Dorado. She moved with her husband in 1943 to Emporia where her husband trained pilots for World War II. They operated the flying school and returned to El Dorado after having started the White and Ellis Drilling company. After the death of her husband in 1959 she became the president and served in that capacity for many years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was very active in many organizations and she gave as a volunteer to the town she loved. These included the board of directors of El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, the El Dorado Country Club and the Warren Hall Coutts III Memorial Museum of Art. She served two terms of the El Dorado Planning Commission, was a member of the Desk and Derrick, Friends of the Library, El Dorado Charities and Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Other organizations included Butler Community College Alumni Association and Endownment Association, Kansas University Alumni Association, the Wednesday Book Club, the Knife and Fork Club, El Dorado Senior Ambassadors and the Suburban Garden Club.
She loved to travel. She was very proud that she had been to the South Seas, Orient, Mediterrean, Australia, Europe, Canada and was blessed to see most of her beautiful country in the United States.
Survivors include: son, Tom White, of Wichita, four grandchildren, Carol Sue White of Dallas, texas, Andrew White of New York City, N.Y., Tom D. White of Wichita and Katherine and husband Greg Goree of Prairie Village and one great-grandson, Charles Thomas Gorsee.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and a son, William White in 1960.

She was born Oct. 29, 1913 to Amos and Amelia Seabrant Becker in Moundridge. She was a homemaker and spent almost her entire life in the area. She was a member of the Cumberland Church.
On Feb. 23, 1936 she was married to Leslie Wedel in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a son, Phillip Wedel of El Dorado; a daughter, Phyllis Wedel of El Dorado, brothers, LaVern Becker of Leon and Roy Becker of McPherson, sisters, Ruby Unruh of Hesston and Faye Nightengale of Moundridge; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry Wedel, three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will begin Tuesday morning at Carlson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Carlson Funeral Home which has the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, October 29, 2001)
