WEBB, CARL JOE

Services for Carl Joe Webb, 56, of El Dorado, were held Tuesday morning at the Sunset Lawns cemetery. He died Friday, March 11, 1988.

Richard Davis, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiated at the services.

WEBSTER, JAMES

James Webster, 56, of Meeker, Colo., formerly of Wichita and Rose Hill, Colo-Wyo Coal Mining Co. welder, former Berry tractor & Equipment Co employee, died Saturday, jan. 9, 1988. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Meeker.

Survivors include wife, Ruthie, son, Tim of Aurora, Colo.., daughters, Terry of Denver, Tammy of Steamboat Springs, Colo. Memorial has been established with St. Mary's Oncology Research, in care of St. Mary's Hospital, P.O. Box 1628, Grand Junction, Colo., 81501. W. C. WEBSTER, LESTER L.

Lester L. Webster, 63, Hays, a former resident of El Dorado, died Friday evening at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 25, 1920, in El Dorado, the son of L. L. and Nina Ollenburger Webster. He spent his early years in El Dorado and attended school here. He moved to the Hays area 35 years ago, and was a pumper for Texaco Oil Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Hays, and also the Veterans of Foreign wars

During World War II, he served in the Air Force.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Allen Webster, Litchfield, Ky.; two brothers, Earl Webster, El Dorado, and Emerson Webster, Wichita, two sisters, Evelyn Whitacre, Tulsa, Okla., and Velma Ratts, El Dorado, several nephews and nieces.

WEDDLE, ALLA LEE

Alla Lee (Mrs. Jospeh) Weddle, 89, a long time El Dorado resident, died Thursday evening at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

She was born March 23, 1894 at Grace, Mo., the daughter of James Ray and Sarah Virginia Rice Cox. She was married to Joseph P. Weddle, who preceded her in death. They moved to El dorado in 1915 and she had made her home here ever since.

She began working as a switchboard operator for Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in the early 1930s and worked in that position for many years. She had been a member of the First Christian Church since 1915.

She is survived by a grandson, Patrick Weddle, of Placerville, Calif., a granddaughter, Mrs. Janice Malone of Sunset Beach, Calif., and a daughter-in-law, Pat Weddle of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three sons.

Memorials in her memory for the Susan B. Allen memorial Hospital library may be sent to the hospital or left at Carlson Funeral Home, where friends may call. (El Dorado Times, March 3, 1984)

Alla Lee Weddle, 89, formerly of 605 N Atchison, died Thursday evening at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hosptial. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Carlson Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times, March 2, 1984)

WEDDLE, BETTY JO

Betty Jo Weddle, 50, of rural Towanda, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1988, at the Andover Care Center at Andover. She was a member of International Society of Machinist No. 733, and was a retired expediter for Beech Aircraft.

Service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Towanda Baptist Church. She was born Feb. 16, 1938, at Goodrich, the daughter of Charles and Susie King. She married Harrold Weddle, Sept. 1, 1956, at Amsterdam, Mo. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Harrold Lee and Steve Joe, both of Andover, two grandchildren. Memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society. Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements. (El Dorado Times, Feb. 25, 1988)

WEDDLE, JOE L.

Joe L. Weddle, 51, 426 S. Belmont, Wichita, died Wednesday morning at Wesley Hospital, Wichita. He was born Nov. 23, 1923, in El Dorado, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe P. Weddle.

Mr. Weddle was a member of the Congregational Church, Wichita. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office at Wichita.

In 1967, he was married to Pat Yost of Wichita, who survives.

Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. A. L. Weddle, 605 N. Atchison, El Dorado; a step-son, Ted Yost, Wichita; two step-daughters, Sandra Yost of the home and Michelle Scarpelli, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph.

Services will be Friday, 3 p.m. at Downing East, 66555 E. Central, Wichita. Interment services will be Saturday, 3 p.m. at Mt. Hope Abby, Topeka. (El Dorado Times, Jan. 23, 1975)

WELLS, NORMAN E.

Norman E. Wells, 62, West Des Monies, Iowa, father of Marianne Botts, Dick Wells and Kathy Stanford, all of El Dorado, died June 5, 1988 after a long illness. Services will be held June 8, at Sacred Heart Church in West Des Moines. Survivors include his wife, Betty; six children; and 10 grandchildren.

WELTY, CHARLEY L.

Services for Charley L. Welty, 89, of El Dorado, were held Thursday afternoon, Jan. 28, 1988, at Carlson Colonial Chapel. Burial followed in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. He died Monday, Jan. 25, 1988.

Reverend Harold E. Posey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated at the services. Organist was Mrs. Amos B. Marsh. Vocalist was Mr. Bob Simmons. Musical selections included "In The Garden," "How Great Thou Art," and "Old Rugged Cross."

Casket bearers were Phillip Page, Bob Page, Duane Scribner, Sam Welty, George Welty Jr. and Bart Hogoboom. (El Dorado Times, Feb. 2, 1988)

WENTLING, HAROLD E.

Services for Harold E. Wentling,77, of Towanda were held Monday morning. Burial followed in Sunset Lawns cemetery.

Reverend Bob Meanor, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church, El Dorado, officiated at the service. Organist was Mrs. Jean Plummer. Ushers were Leroy Shoemaker and Charley Cook.

Casket bearers were Chad Chase, Kevin chase, Cran Chase, Harlan Bitterlin, brian Cusick, Darren Cusick and David Stackley. Honorary casket bearers were Sam Unger, Russell Holem, Paul Hower, Phil Ball, Everett Atkisson and Calvin Miller. Kirby Morris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. WENTZ, RACHEL A.

A graveside service for Rachel Ashly Wentz, 2 day old daughter of David Carlyle and bethel Joe Wentz of Wilcox, Ariz., will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at the Leon Cemetery.

Rachel died Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Rev. Tom Norman will officiate at Friday's service.

In addition to her parents, Rachel leaves grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wentz of Augusta, Dorothy and James Reed both of Indianapolis, Ind.

WESTALL, ELSIE FERN

Elsie Fern Westall, 86, of 2222 W. Third, died Saturday morning at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Mrs. Westall was born Jan. 1, 1898 in Summner, Ill., the daughter of Gilbert and Emma Sanders. On Dec. 24, 1919 she married Clinton B. Westall in Bridgeport, Ill. Mr. Westall preceded her in death on June 12, 1982.

She lived in El Dorado since 1919, coming here from Sumner, Ill. She had been employed as a saleslady at Brammer's Grocery and by Scott's Clothing Store for many years. Her memberships included the First Christian Church, the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the auxiliary sewing group and the Homemakers club.

Surviving family includes three grandsons, Tom Westall, Hutchinson, Clinton T. Westall of Little Rock, Ark.., Robert T. Westall of Pago Pago American Somano and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Westall was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one son, Robert L. Westall and two brothers and four sisters.

WHITESTINE, RICHARD HULSE

Richard Hulse Whitestine, 71, of San Jose, Calif., former El Dorado resident, died March 2, 1988. Services were March 3, at Oak Hill Mortuary, San Jose, Calif.

Survivors include wife, Helen Whitestine, son, Tom Healdsburg of San Jose, Calif., mother Zella Whitestine of Presbyterian Manor in Wichita, former El Dorado resident.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Whitestine, and sister betty Whitestine Evan. (El Dorado Times, March 14, 1988

WILLS, EVA ISABELL

Services for Mrs. Eva Isabell Wills of Reece, a former El Dorado resident, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Campbell Funeral home in Eureka. Burial will be in the Blankenship Cemetery near Rosalia. (El Dorado Times, May 14, 1975)
