ROGLER,  WAYNE  VS  MARY  OLIVE

ROGLER  DIVORCE  IS  GRANTED  BY  JUDGE

COTTONWOOD  FALLS --- After a hearing that attracted widespread attention in Chase County, a divorce was granted Thursday to Mary Olive Rogler from her husband, Wayne, by District Judge Jay Sullivan.

Judge Sullivan found "mutual fault" in the case and divided tracts of land on an even basis.  Mrs. Rogler was given an alimony award of $4,000.

The division of property did not involve land owned by either party before the marriage.  Land acquired after the marriage was appraised and then divided evenly.  The ranch home was given to Mrs. Rogler.  Little or no personal property was involved.

The courtroom was nearly filled during some parts of the hearing, and the gallery included between 50 and 60 witnesses.  Some of the witnesses were not called to testify.

Juge Sullivan awarded $1,000 in attorney's fees to Frank Eckdall, who represented Mrs. Rogler, and $9,000 plus $1,000 expenses to the firm of Raymond West and Cochrane at Kansas City.  Mr. Rogler was directed to pay $4,000 of the attorneys' costs and Mrs. Rogler $7,000.
