CLYDE - The funeral for Paul E. Charbonneau, 83, Clyde, will be at 10 am Thursday at St. John the Baptist Roman
Catholic Church, Clyde, Msgr. Vincent Lemoine officiating. Burial will be in Mount Cavalry Cemetery, Clyde.
Mr. Charbonneau died Monday at St. Joseph's hospital, Concordia. He was born Sept. 9, 1891, at St. Joseph, and
had lived in the Clyde and Clifton communities most of his life. For many years, Mr. Charbonneau operated a service
station in Clyde. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Clyde.
Surviving are the widow, Lena, St. Ann's nursing home, Concordia; a brother, Euclid, Cheyenne Lodge nursing home,
Jamestown; 4 step-daughters, Mrs. George Kantack, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Alpha Charest, Topeka; Mrs. Glen Rundus, Hiawatha,
and Mrs. Mel Newman, Clifton; a step-son, Francis Long, Clifton; 3 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, 19
step-grandchildren and 20 great-step-grandchildren.
There will be a rosary at 7:45 pm Wednesday followed by an 8 pm Bible service at Chaput mortuary, Clyde.
The family suggests memorials to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church building fund. Friends may call at the

CLYDE — Helen Kegle, 87, Clyde, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia.
Mrs. Kegle was born Helen Ouellette on Feb. 8, 1910, at St. Joseph and was a lifelong resident of the Clyde and St. Joseph areas. She and her husband owned and operated Whiteway Cafe in Clyde for 35 years, and she later was a cook at Park Villa Care Home. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J., who died in 1986 and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include a son, Harold of Clyde; three daughters, Madeleine Blackwood and Betty Biery, both of Clyde, and Barbara Jean Kegle of Concordia; a sister, Marceline Kegle of Clyde; a brother, Armond Ouellette of Clyde; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev. LeRoy Metro officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the church. Memorials may be made to Clyde Ambulance or St. Joseph Cemetery Fund.
OUELLETTE, HENRY S.
CLYDE - The funeral for Henry S. Ouellette, 82, Clyde, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church, Clyde, the Rev. Henry J. Kieffer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde.
Mr. Ouellette died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia. He was born Sept. 28, 1898, in the St. Joseph community east of Clyde. A lifetime area resident he was a retired farmer and a member of the Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rosalie Lichter, Havensville, Kan.; three sons, Francis, San Jose, Calif.; Donald, Campbell, Calif., and Dennis, Clay Center; four brothers, Paul, Concordia; Roland, Washington, Kan.; Louis, Clay Center, and Armond, Clyde; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Ericson, Mrs. Helen Kegle, Mrs. Marceline Kegle and Jeanette Charbonneau, all of Clyde, and 12 grandchildren.

CHARBONNEAU, WILLIE J.
CLYDE — The funeral for Willie J. Charbonneau, 74, Clyde, will be at 10 am Monday at St. John the Baptist Roman
Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev. Robert Vering officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Clyde.
Mr. Charbonneau died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia.
He was born March 19, 1902, at St. Joe, Kan. He moved to Clyde in 1962 after retiring from the Service Pipeline Co. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Clyde Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are the widow, Jannette; a daughter, Mrs. Rita Callaway, Concordia; a sister, Mrs. Amanda Adams, Concordia, and 2 grandchildren.

WILSON, ALBERT ROLAND JR.
Albert Roland Wilson, Jr., was born at Concordia, Kansas, August 6, 1929, and passed peacefully away at Clyde,
Kansas, January 22, 1930, at the age of 5 months and 16 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his loving father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilson, his devoted grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Wilson and Charles B. Wurtz, and a host of other relatives and friends. He had a bright and
sunny disposition which made his presence a pleasure to those at home and will be greatly missed by all who knew
him. “We had a little treasure once, he was our joy and pride, we loved him, ah, perhaps too much, for soon he
slept and died. All is dark within our dwelling, lonely are our hearts today, for the one we loved so dearly,

WILSON, ALBERT R.
CLYDE - Albert R. Wilson, 84, Clyde, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 1994, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia.
Mr. Wilson was born March 25, 1910, at Clyde and lived in the area most of his life. He worked for Clyde mill and
elevator, in the oilfields in West Texas, and was a carpenter and city marshal of Clyde. He was a member of St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Richard, in 1989; an infant son, Albert Jr.; and three grandsons.
Survivors include his wife, Daphna of Clyde; two sons, Robert of Clyde and James of Kearney, Mo.; three daughters,
Catherine Downey and Barbara Welsh, both of Topeka, and Loretta Stevens of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; and 18
great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev.
Frank Coady officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at the
Chaput Mortuary, Clyde.
Memorials may be made to the church or American Heart Association.

WILSON, AL
Al Wilson Dead Monday
Clyde was saddened this week when the news of the death of Al Wilson was learned. Al suffered a heart attack a
week ago Saturday, and the reoccurring attacks all week, finally resulted in his death shortly after noon Monday.
Al had spent all his life in Clyde, was well and favorable known by everyone. He worked for many years at the
Clyde mill, and later was with the Gas Company in their Clyde office. He was always ready to do anything possible
to help his friends and was instrumental in keeping many of gas appliances in Clyde in good operating condition.
Later, years found Al enjoying his favorite sport, fishing, and was a faithful member of the group who loved the
outdoors. He will be missed by his many friends and relatives. (The Clyde Republican, April 1952, submitted by

LeCLAIR, ALDIA M.
CLYDE — Aldia M. LeClair, 85, Clyde, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Cloud County Health Center,
Concordia. Mrs. LeClair was born Aldia M. Peltier on June 25, 1913, at Concordia. She farmed with her husband around
St. Joseph, moving to Clyde in 1983. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church,
Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Society, the Sunshine EHU, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the
American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adamore.
Survivors include three sons, Robert of Salina, Richard of Clyde and Michael of Concordia; a sister, Alrose Hammer
of Redding, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev. LeRoy Metro officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at church.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the Chaput Mortuary, 310 Washington, Clyde 66938 and after 6 p.m.

LeCLAIR, ADAMORE S.
Adamore S. LeClair, 79, Clyde, died Nov. 11, 1997 at Park Villa Care Home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1918 at Aurora to Frank and Celia Martel LeClair. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School
for eight years and then Clyde High School. He married Aldia M. Peltier Jan. 19, 1948, at Concordia. He served
overseas as a flight mechanic for the army-air Corps during World War II. He had lived and farmed his entire life
in the St. Joseph area. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church in St. Joseph and St. John the Baptist Catholic
church of Clyde. He also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 7515 of Clyde and 588 of Concordia. He
served as commander of Post 7515. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 227 of Clifton.
Survivors include his wife, Aldia LeClair of Clyde; three sons, Robert LeClair and wife Mary of Salina, Richard
LeClair and wife Julie of Clyde and Michael LeClair of Concordia; a sister, Irene Peterson of Clyde; and three
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, at the St. John the Baptist church in Clyde with the Revs.
LeRoy Metro and Louis Mattas officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Clyde with military graveside
services by the VFW Post #588.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Chaput Mortuary. Memorial may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic

McAULIFFE, SISTER MARY FELICITAS
CONCORDIA - Sister Mary Felicitas McAuliffe, 70, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Concordia, at 12:20 p.m. Thursday.
She had been a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia for 53 years.
She was born in Leavenworth but grew up near Salina. She was a cousin of James Cunningham, Salina RFD 3 and the
Rev Harry Cunningham, now a patient at St. John's Hospital.
Other survivors include a sister Mrs. Mary Pfab, Atlanta, Ga., and a brother, William McAuliffe, Kansas City, Ks.
One of her nephews, Rev. Charles Pfab, is a Marianist priest.
The funeral will be at 9:30 am Saturday in the Sacred Heart Chapel at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia. The Most
Rev. Frederick W. Freking, Bishop of Salina, will preside at the solemn Requiem Mass. Burial will be in the Nazareth

GIRARD, WILLIAM
ST. JOSEPH - The funeral for William Girard, 63, Bennington, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic
Church, St. Joseph, the Rev. Henry J. Kieffer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Girard died Saturday at his home.
He was born June 14, 1915, at Clyde. He had lived in Cloud and Ottawa counties most of his life, and for 30 years
was a heavy equipment operator for Prairie States Construction Company, Wichita. Mr. Girard was a World War II
veteran, and a member of the Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ardys, of the home; two sons, Bill, Nickerson, and Paul, Bennington; two daughters, Mrs.
Florine Lockett, St. Peter's, Mo., and Cheryl Girard, of the home; three brothers, Alfred, Clyde; Hector, Clay
Center, and Emery, Milton vale; a sister, Mrs. Edna Ouellette, Washington, Kan., and four grandchildren.

HENRY, DELBERT L.
CONCORDIA — Delbert L. Henry, 62, Concordia, died Wednesday, June 22, 1988, at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia.
Mr. Henry was born May 28, 1926, in Depew, Okla. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic
Church, the American Lodge, Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus, all of Concordia.
Survivors include his wife, Eva of the home; four daughters, Sharon Coleman of Kansas City, Mo., Linda Henry of
Concordia, Janet Henry of Houston and Jacque Doyle of Manhattan; two sons, Joe of Edwardsville, Ill, and Tim of
Salt Lake City; two sisters, Geraldine Highfill of West Plains, Mo., and Ida Faye Jennings of Rand, Wash.; and
three granddaughters.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, the Revs. John Lahey,
Roger Meitle and Stephen Letourneau officiating. Burial will be in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia. Memorials may be made to
the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of North Central Kansas. Visitation is after 10 a.m. today at the funeral

HENRY, THOMAS "TOM"
CONCORDIA - Thomas "Tom" Henry, 34, Concordia, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, in a highway construction accident
near Concordia.
Mr. Henry was born Dec. 18, 1950, in Salina. He had worked for the Kansas Highway Department for 2 1/2 years.
Survivors include his Wife, Cynthia, a son, Cody, and a daughter, Misty, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Merrill Henry of Clyde; a brother, Larry of Concordia; a half-brother, Harrel Hendriex of Sumter, S.C.; and
four sisters, Janice Bates of Italy, Jannet Benyshek of Belleville, Sherry Moore of Hamilton, Ala., and Lyndia
Schwab of Concordia.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home Chapel, Concordia, the Rev. Stephen Letourneau
officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the

ENGELBERT, SISTER AGNES VIRGINIA
CONCORDIA — Sister Agnes Virginia Engelbert, 86, Concordia, died Sunday at St. Mary's Convent, Concordia after
a long illness.
Rose (Sister Agnes) was born May 7, 1898, at Beloit. She was a Sister of St. Joseph for 62 years and a career educator.
She was librarian at Marymount College for 30 years from 1939 to 1969. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on
Aug. 15, 1921, and received the habit of the order on March 20, 1922. She pronounced final vows Aug. 15, 1927.
She taught in schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph in Monet, Mo., and Manhattan and Junction City before
being assigned to teaching and library services at Marymount College. After leaving Marymount, she served missions
in Salina, Manhattan, and El Paso, Texas, before retiring to St. Mary's Convent in 1980. She is survived by nephews
and nieces.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Motherhouse Chapel, the Rev. Henry Kieffer, Motherhouse chaplain,
officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, on the grounds of the Motherhouse. The Chaput-Buoy Funeral

CHARBONNEAU, SISTER EDITH
CONCORDIA - Sister Edith Charbonneau, 88, died Tuesday at the Nazareth Motherhouse, Concordia.
Sister Edith was born Feb. 14, 1896, at Concordia. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on Sept. 8, 1916. She
received the habit of the order March 19, 1917, and pronounced her perpetual vows Aug. 15, 1922. She was a nurse
at various hospitals staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph, including hospitals in El Paso, Texas, and Belvidere,
Ill. She spent a total of 43 years at St. Joseph's Hospital, Concordia. She retired at the Motherhouse in 1974.
A highlight of her career was her assignment to St. Mary's Hospital, Manhattan, in 1936 as one of the first group
of Sisters of St. Joseph to serve there. It had been purchased from Dr. Belle Little, who established it in 1915.
Sister Edith is survived by a sister, Mrs. Milton Hummel, and a brother, Paul, both of Concordia.
A Bible vigil was held Wednesday night in the Motherhouse chapel. The funeral Mass and burial will be at 10:30
a.m. today at the Motherhouse, the Rev. Henry Kieffer, chaplain, officiating. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia,
