ANNOUNCE  MARRIAGE

Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Shirley Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Miller of St. Joseph, Mo., to Lieut. Harold F. Andrews, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Andrews of Eagle Bridge.  The ceremony was performed at Troy, Kan., on July 13.  The bride is residing with her parents while Lieutenant Andrews is serving as a pilot in the Air Transport Command stationed at the Reno Army Air Base, Reno, Nev.

Married - At the residence of Wm. D. Beeler, in Troy, on the 17th inst., by Rev. J. E. Ryan, Capt. Marion Beeler, of the 13th Regiment Kansas Volunteers, to Miss Ora Canfield, of Iowa Point. It is said that "none but the brave deserve the fair." Marion won the prize in the Arkansas campaign and has now claimed his reward. He does not intend to take the scripture furlough of one year to remain with his wife, but will immediately "off to the wars begin." Not the least creditable part of this affair, was the present to the Chief office of a supply of delicious cake, seasoned with a five-dollar green-back. Long may they live! PEARSON, FERDINAND ~ ROCKHOLD, LENORA

Miller, May 25 --- The marriage of Miss Lenora Rockhold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Rockhold, of Troy, and Mr. Ferdinand Pearson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pearson, took place Thursday, May 20, at the home of the bride's parents.  Rev. M. A. Perkins performed the ceremony in the presence of the families and a few friends.

An arch of bridal wreath and purple iris provided an appropriate setting for the wedding.  The bride wore a gown of white crepe with lace insertion in the puffed sleeves.  Her turban hat was of soft crepe with a stiff veil.  Other accessories were of white and her corsage was of gardenias and lillies-of-the-valley.

The bride and groom were attended by her sister, Ethel, and her brother, Ted.  The maid-of-honor wore a gown of flowered white crepe with yellow accessories.  Her corsage was lavender, sweet peas, and lillies-of-the-valley.

Mrs. Everett Rockhold of White Cloud, sand, "I Love You Truly," and played the wedding march.  Miss Marily n Jenson, of Whiting, and Miss Dorothy Jean Rockhold, and Miss Dorothy Jean Rockhold, of White Cloud, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.  Marilyn wore a yellow organdy and Dorothy Jean wore a blue organdy.  They carried arm bouquets of bridal wreath.  Rev. M. A. Perkins read the thirteenth chapter of Corinthians from the bride's maternal grandmother's Bible.  Following the ceremony a luncheon was served, after which Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Pearson left for a short wedding trip.  The bride and groom will be at home on a farm near Admire.

Cards have been received here announcing the recent marriage of Mrs. Ella Campbell, formerly of Highland, and Mr. James Sweney at Chicago.  Mrs. Campbell will be remembered by many as the widow of Arch S. Campbell, who had a drug store here a number of years ago.
