Our goal is helping you find your ancestors by placing data online for the Free use of all researchers.  We are proud to expand Kansas with Douglas County, providing our "experience" gained from years of researching our ancestors and website hostingWe want to hear about you and the history of your ancestors from this beautiful State. We also need contributions of your data, history and stories to make this a great place to research.  Everything is helpful: Obituaries, Biographies, Photos and County History, to name a few.
  As data becomes available, we will put it online.  Information for the County of Douglas will be posted as fast as we can find, type and/or receive it.  We welcome your feedback and comments, and of course, your data contributions.

Organized in 1855, Douglas County was named for Stephen A. Douglas, famous orator and United States senator.
It is the home of three universities: the University of Kansas, Baker University and Haskell Indian Nations University.
Lawrence is the county seat; besides the cities listed at the left, the communities of Big Springs, Clearfield, Clinton, Globe, Grover, Hesper, Kanwaka, Lake View, Lone Star, Midland, Pleasant Grove, Sibleyville, Stull, Vinland and Worden lie within the boundaries of Douglas County.
