Syracuse - Jennie R. Alexander, 77, of Kinsley, died Sunday, Dec. 22,1996 at Medicalodge, Kinsley.

Born at Syracuse on July 16, 1919 she was the daughter of John and Mattie Zimmerman Alexander. Formerly of Syracuse, she had been a longtime Kinsley resident and was a homemaker.

Survivors are a brother, Paul Alexander, San Jose, Calif., and a sister, Violet Lunberg, Goleta, Calif.

There will be a memorial service at Medicalodge at a later date. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.

Mrs. Estella Aylsworth, 85, Kinsley, died Saturday at the Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley, after a long illness. Born Aug. 25, 1881, at Great Bend, she was married to J. B. Aylsworth. He died in 196?. She was the mother of Glenn Beaman.

AMARO, ORLANDO JOHN

Kinsley - Orlando John Amaro, infant son, of Mr. and Mrs. Rayes Amaro, Kinsley, died Thursday morning at the Edwards County Hospital here. He was born Tuesday at the hospital.

Survivors: The parents, brother, Carlos Lee of the home; sisters, Mrs. Rosella Fry, Hutchinson, Audrey Rae, of the home.

BIDLEMAN, RIETA P.

Kinsley - Rieta P. Bidleman, 69, Kinsley, died Tuesday evening at her home after a two year illness. Born July 12, 1898, at Kinsley she was a lifetime resident here. She was married to Chester Bidleman Aug. 16, 1921 at Kinsley.

She was a member of the Congregational Church; Women's Federated Club; American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors are the widower; son, Bill John, Kinsley; daughter Mrs. Bonnie B. Estrin, Prairie Village, five grandchildren.

BOYER, ROGER A.

Kinsley - Roger A. Boyer, 61, Kinsley, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006.

Mr. Boyer was born July 9, 1945, in Dodge City. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Mary E., of Muskogee, Okla., five sons, five daughters, his father, Charlie of Fort Dodge, two brothers, Dwight of Tucson, Ariz., and Wayne of Olathe, a sister, Louise Kazmaier of Montezuma and 12 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley.

Kinsley - Mrs. Laura B. Cooper, 92, died Monday at the Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley, after a long illness. Born Feb. 17, 1879 at Kinsley, she was married to George W. Cooper. He died in January of 1958. She was a lifelong resident here.

Survivors include a nephew: Charles Boettcher, Seattle, Wash.

CRAFT, CLARENCE D.

Kinsley - Clarence D. Craft, 74, lifetime resident of Kinsley died Friday night at Edwards County Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 16, 1897, on a farm south of Kinsley and married Mary Ethel Thomason, May 31, 1920 at Leavenworth. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of the Kinsley Methodist Church and a charter member of both the Gilbert M. Lewis American Legion Post, Kinsley, and the Jones, Barnes and Gasser VFW, Kinsley.

Kinsley - Melvin A. Danler, 62, died Feb. 24, 1988 at Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley. Born Aug. 9, 1925 at Wright, he married Joan Weyrich Oct. 1, 1952, at Kinsley. A farmer, he was a lifetime resident of the Kinsley area.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kinsley and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7349, Kinsley.

Kinsley - William H. Danler, 87, Kinsley, died early Tuesday at the Edwards County Hospital here after a long illness. Born July 4, 1880, in Great Bend, he moved to Kinsley about five years ago from Ellinwood. He was a retired farmer.

Kinsley - Gladys Norene Fletcher, 86, died Sunday at Medical Lodge, Kinsley. Born Gladys Norene Weadge Aug. 9, 1893, at Kinsley, she married Fred Fletcher. She was a retired teacher.

She was a member of Congregational Church, Kinsley.

Kinsley - Orville F. Ford, 64, Kinsley, died Friday morning at the Larned State Hospital where he had been a patient two and a half weeks. Born July 7, 1904, at Kinsley he was a lifetime resident here. He married Iva McGill June 13, 1927, at Kinsley. He was a retired carpenter.

He was a member of the Lewis Christian church.

GAFF, EMMA MAY SPENCE

Fayette, Jan. 26 - Mrs. Emma May Spence Graff, 74, of Lewis, Kan., a former Howard County resident, died Sunday at a hospital in Larned, Kan. She was the sister of Taylor Spence and Miss Betty Spence, both of Rural Fayette. Mrs. Graff was born May 4, 1890, to Jesse F. and Ella Short Spence, on a farm in Howard County just south of Fayette, on which her brother and sister still live. She lived there until her marriage to Eugene Graff in 1913. Her husband survives. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Lewis, Kan., and burial will be there. Kinsley - Mrs. Maron G. Hite, 74, widow of the late Wm. T. Hite, of Kinsley died Monday at the Masonic Home at Wichita. The body will be brought here for burial. She was a pioneer of this community. (Hutchinson News Herald, December 5, 1944)

Kinsley - Mrs. Julia Ann Jensen, 83, Kinsley, died Friday at the Edwards County Hospital here. Born Sept. 17, 1883, in Kinsley, she was married to James Jensen April 11, 1906. He died in 1954. She had lived in Kinsley all of her life.

JONES, WILLIE "WILL" W.

Kinsley - Willie "Will" W. Jones, 86, of Kinsley, died Dec. 14, 1986, at Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley. Born July 3, 1900, at Greesnburg, Ky., he married Verna E. Gilmore Sept. 10, 1932. She died Feb. 27, 1985. He was a retired farmer and a longtime Kinsley area resident.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Rozel, and the Edwards County Farm Bureau. He was manager and custodian of the 4-H building, Kinsley.

Survivors: sons, Royce L., Des Moines, Iowa, Ronald D., Loveland, Colo., Doyle E., Offerle, brothers, Estel, Burdett, Ora., Rozel; Sister, Elsie Hoover, Bertrand, Neb.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

KUHN, WILLIAM O.

Kinsley - WIlliam O. Kuhn, 89, died Sept. 20, 1993 at his home.

He was born July 2, 1904, at Kinsley the son of Wendel and Emma Munchow Kuhn. A lifetime Kinsley resident, he was a retired farmer.

He was a member of Our Redeemr Lutheran Church, Kinsley.

On Dec. 20, 1923, he married Icie Barnett at Kinsley. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Kenneth L., Kinsley; a daughter, Myrtle Fisher, Kinsley; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kinsley, with the Rev. Michael Wolff presiding. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley.

Kinsley - Earl Wayne Lippoldt, 57, former Kinsley resident, died Wednesday at Andy Bowie Beach, Cameron, Texas. Born De. 26, 1923, at Kinsley, he married Olive F. Mather in June, 1946, at Kinsley. He was a retired farmer and was a resident of Texas for six years.

He was a member of the VFW and the Elks Club.

Kinsley - Katherine M. McAfee, 80, died March 23, 1984, at the Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, after a long illness. Born Katherine Montgomery Feb. 11, 1904, at Wichita, she married Emory McAfee May 7, 1928 at Jetmore. She was self-employed and was a longtime resident of Kinsley.

She was a member of the Congregational Church and the Eastern Star, Kinsley.

Kinsley - Merle Jerome McGill, 79, died Sunday at his ome in Kinsley. Born Feb. 23, 1901 at Lewis, he married Mary Bernatzki Dec. 28, 1974, at Kinsley. He was a retired veterinarian assistant and farmer and lived in the Kinsley area since 1978.

He was a member of the Christian Church, Lewis.

Kinsley - Myrl c. Moletor, 63, died Tuesday at the Kinder Kare Rest Home, Kinsley, after a long illness. Born June 21, 1905, at Kinsley, he married Harriet Diers July 14, 1928 at Larned. He was a retired stockman and farmer and had been a life long resident here.

He was a member of the Congregational Church, Kinsley and the Kinsley Gun club.

Kinsley - Mrs. Annie V. Oheim, 96, died Monday morning at her home here after a long illness. Born Sept. 19, 1871, at Sharon, Pa., she was married to Frederick W. Oheim Nov. 17, 1897, at Kinsley. He died in 1958. She had moved to Kinsley in 1878.

Kinsley - Mrs. Leora F. Prinkamp, 81, died Saturday at the Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley, after a long illness.

She was born Sept. 25, 1890, in Benton County, Arkansas, and was married to . J. Prinkamp, Dec. 25,1926, at Kinsley. He died Aug. 9, 1963. She was a lifelong resident of Kinsley.

She was a member of the OES and the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include stepsons Ben Prinkamp, Covina, Calif., Frank Prinkamp, Kinsley, brothers, Henry Lee, Bentonville, Ark., Walter Lee, Drumright, Okla., eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Kinsley, KS – Edward C. Putter, 97, died July 30, 1990, at Medicalodge Rest Home, Kinsley.

He was born July 16, 1898, at Kinsley, the son of Theodore and Alvina Stach Putter. A lifetime resident of the Kinsley area, he was a retired farmer.

On Oct. 18, 1915, he married Ina Rainbolt at Larned. She died May 5, 1985.

Survivors include: a son, Lawell, Hutchinson; two daughters, Cleo Horton, Great Bend, and Ruth Spiropoulos, Mountain View, Mo.; a brother, Frank, Kinsley; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Kinsley - William J. Schaller, 82, died March 29, 1995, at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt.

He was born March 12, 1913, at Kinsley, the son of Harry and Barbara Merten Schaller. A longtime Kinsley resident, he was a retired farmer and mechanic.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Kinsley Gun Club, St. Edwards Council and Knights of Columbus, all of Kinsley.

On Aug. 29, 1939, he married Genevieve Giessel at Belpre. She died in 1971.

Kinsley - Mrs. Bessie J. Sipes, 73, died Saturday at Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley. Born Feb. 17, 1903 in Edwards County, she was married to Gerald Sipes in 1923 at Kinsley. He died in June 1941. She was a farmer and lifetime resident of Edwards County.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kinsley.

Survivors include daughter: Mrs. Mary Alice Thummel, Phoenix, Ariz.; sister: Mrs. Nell Edwards, Greensburg; five grandchildren.

Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at McKillip Funeral Home, Kinsely. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church; Father John Lavrih. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley. Friends may call until service time at the funeral home. (Hutchinson News, November 29, 1976, page 2)

STEVENS, SANFORD A.

Kinsley - Sanford A. Stevens, 89, died Sunday at Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley. Born Nov. 15, 1891 at Sawyer, he was a retired farmer.

Survivors: daughter; Virginia Williams, Kansas City; brothers: Elmer Stevens, Kinsley; Ernie Stevens, Girard.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Haviland Cemetery, Haviland; the Rev. Raymond Daniels. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Medicalodge Rest Home Chapel, Kinsley. Friends may call until noon Tuesday at McKillip Funeral Home, Kinsley. (Hutchinson News, March 16, 1981)

TIBBETTS, HARLOW E.

Kinsley - Harlow E. Tibbets, 63, Loveland, Colo., former owner and editor of the Kinsley Mercury, died unexpectedly at his home Thursday.

He was born in October of 1894 at Blue Rapids, Kan. For 23 years he owned and edited the Kinsley Mercury, and was also owner and editor of the Bowie, Tex., News for six years before moving to Loveland two years ago. He was co-owner and editor of the daily Reporter-Herald there.

Survivors include the widow: Ida Elizabeth; two brothers, Dr. R. W. Tibbets, Santa Anna, Calif., Dr. Eugene Tibbetts, Riverside, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Ayres, Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Eunice Frankian, Burbank, Calif.

Funeral will be Monday at Loveland. Burial will be in the Caldwell, Kan., Cemetery. (Hutchinson News, January 13, 1962)

WEESE, WILFRED

Kinsley - Wilfred Weese, 74, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Kinsley, died Friday in Mesa after a long illness.

He was born July 15, 1897, at Fellsburg, and married Ola Fisher, June 3, 1924, at Fellsburg. He was a retired highway maintenance man and a life-long resident of Edwards County before moving to Mesa in 1962.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kinsley and the American Legion.

Survivors include the widow, daughters, Mrs. Iona Mae Thompson, Pampa, Tex., Mrs. Euila Janitz, Atwater, Calif., Mrs. Velda Leonard, Santee, Calif., brothers, Danny, DeSoto; Olive, Cullison; sisters, Mrs. Lavida Blackburn, Rogers, Ark.; Mrs. Ruby Ritchie, Muskogee, Okla.; Mrs. Neva Gresham, Ashland, Ore.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McKillips Memorial Chapel, in Kinsley; Rev. A. E. Beardslee. Burial will be in the Fellsburg Cemetery. (Hutchinson News, December 13, 1971)

WHITE, HENRY C.

Kinsley - Henry C. White, 80, died Sunday at the Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley. Born Dec. 31, 1900 in Bates County, Mo.; he married Pearl Brown, Dec. 20, 1934 in Kinsley. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of the Christian Church, Kinsley.

Survivors: widow of the home; son: Jay, Kinsley; daughter: Mrs. Kay Fox, Larned; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral will be 2 p.m Wednesday at the McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley; the Rev. Steve Frantum. Burial at the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call until service time at the funeral home. Family suggests memorials to the Edwards County Hospital Auxiliary. (Hutchinson News, March 16, 1981)
