Garden City - Mrs. Lilian McCormick Stephenson, 48, died at her home here at 7:45 a.m. Saturday of heart disease. She was born in Garden City on Nov. 17, 1900. Survivors are her widower, Henry; and two sons, J. Nate, 11, and Charles L. 8. (Hutchinson News-Herald, January 2, 1949, page 17) JAYE, LOUISE Garden City, KS --- Mrs. Louise Jaye, 66, died Saturday morning, July 4, at St. Catherine’s Hospital here after a short illness. Born Sept. 22, 1897, at Chillicothe, Mo., she had lived in Garden City for 34 years. She had been a telephone operator for 10 years. She married W. H. Jaye Aug. 1, 1929, at Garden City. Survivors are the widower; daughter, Mrs. Willard Keune, Garden City, step-daughter, Mrs. John Elmore, Houston, Tex.; stepson, Dale, Hutchinson; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stoeckly had been an invalid for a year. Mrs. Stoeckly was born in Switzerland. She came to this county in 1907. She is survived by three daughters and two sons.
