Ross Brooks and Oakie Clubb, circa 1917 United in Marriage On last Saturday night at the Methodist parsonage, Mr. Ross Brooks and Miss Oakie Clubb were united in marriage by the Rev. McKean at 8 o'clock. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. H. S. Clubb of this city and has lived in this city practically all her life. She is a very pleasant young lady with friends numbered only by her acquaintance. The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Rrooks [sic], and he, too, has spent the greater part of his life in the Morland vicinity. He is an honest young man, generous and well meaning. Mr. Books was home from Camp Pike on a vacation and the marriage came as a surprise to their many friends and also their close relatives. He returned to Camp Pike on the early Sunday morning train and expects to leave camp for France in the near future. His bride accompanied him on his return to camp as far as Kansas City, returning to her home in Morland the next day.
