Bogue's post office, which was moved from Fagan, was established on 19 September 1888 and is still active.
Fagan's post office was established on 17 June 1887 and discontinued on 19 September 1888 when it was moved to Bogue.
Fremont was the original name for Morland. The Post Office, which was moved from Beech Grove, was established on 11 May 1881 and discontinued on 4 February 1892 when the name was changed to Morland.
Gettysburg was located approximately four miles west of Hill City, north of the South Solomon River. A post office was established on 20 September 1878 and was discontinued on 27 April 1889.
Gradan was a community in Allodium Township. The post office was established on 5 October 1894 and discontinued on 31 October 1923.
Hill City became the county seat after Millbrook was destroyed by fire in 1887. A post office was established on 20 September 1878.
Hoganville was the original name of St. Peter. It's post office was established on 28 June 1894 and discontinued on 18 September 1899.
Leland had a post office established on 1 August 1888 and discontinued on 31 March 1907.
Millbrook was the first county seat, but was destroyed by a tornado on 4 August 1887. The county seat was then moved to Hill City. The post office at Millbrook was established 5 December 1878 and was discontinued 31 August 1889.
Morland's post office, which is still active, was established on 4 February 1892 when the name of the community was changed from Fremont.
Nicodemus is the only remaining community established by "Exodusters" (ex-slaves who left the South following the Civil War). The first post office was established on 12 September 1877 and discontinued on 15 August 1918. It was re-established on 20 July 1920 and discontinued 30 November 1953. The community was designated a National Historic site on 12 November 1996. It is well-known for the July "Emancipation Celebration", commonly known as Homecoming, when many of the descendants of settlers and former residents return.
Penokee
Reford was the original name of Penokee.
Roscoe had a post office established on 16 January 1879 and discontinued on 31 August 1893.
Smithfield's post office was established on 20 March 1879 and discontinued on 4 September 1883.
St. Peter, originally named Hoganville, is known for being a Volga German community in the southwestern portion of the county. The post office was established on 18 September 1899 and discontinued on 15 March 1920.
Togo was approximately 12 miles south of Hill City in Happy Township. In 1920, it had a general store and a population of 20. The post office was established on 20 June 1905 and discontinued on 14 September 1910.
