Cassie A. Stearns, age 100, of Wellington, KS passed away Friday evening, September 24, 2010 at the Slate Creek Deseret Nursing Home. She was worked as a nurse aide for Wellington Hospital for more than 25 years.
Cassie was born October 7, 1909 in Kingman, KS to Perry and Victoria (Weber) Pepper.
She graduated from Spivey High School.
She married Charles B. Stearns on January 2, 1931 in Kingman, KS. They moved to Wellington from Harper in 1954. Cassie was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist.
Cassie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 1988; infant daughter, Beverly; one brother; four sisters; and two stepbrothers.
She is survived by two sons, Brent Sterns and his wife Mary of Wellington, KS and Roger Stearns and his wife Sandy of Lincoln, NE; three daughters, Lois Ferguson of Wichita, KS, Marcene Mitchell and her husband George of Hobert, NE and Charlene Johnson of Wichita, KS; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Frank Funeral Home in Wellington, KS. Pastor Keith Trumbo will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Duquoin Cemetery in Duquoin, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 1:00-8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Slate Creek Deseret Nursing Home. Memorials can be left at the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Kingman, KS --- Mrs. Emma Marie Hillman, 88, formerly
of Kingman died Friday at the Stafford Nursing Home Wichita. Born Aug. 31, 1883, at Cheney she moved to Wichita
in 1934 from Kingman. Her husband Richard F. Hillman died in 1959l
She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Wichita.
Survivors include daughters: Mrs. Elsie F. Smith, Wichita; Mrs. Ruth A. Zimmerman, Pretty Prairie; Mrs. Esther
L. Schaeffer, Albuquerque, N.M.; Son: Albert J. Hillman, Bayfield, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Zenda, KS --- Lawrence, E. Spade 62, died Thursday
at his home after a short illness. Born Aug. 9, 1909, in Kingman County, he married Mary Elizabeth Smith Aug. 6,
1935 at Willowdale. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident here.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Zenda.

SCHAAR, ALICE WOHLFORD
Mrs. Alice Wohlford Schaar, 67, Severy, sister of Olan Wohlford, 818 East 7th, died Tuesday night at Eureka Hospital
after a short illness. Born Sept. 1, 1904, in Harper County, she married William Schaar, Feb. 28, 1923. She was
a former Cheney resident.
Other survivors include the widower: brothers: Ansel Wohlford, Ivan Wohlford, and Norman Wohlford, Wichita; sister;
Mrs. Mary Case, Eureka.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at a Severy funeral home and at 3 p.m. Friday at the Cheney Christian Church.
Burial will be in Vinita Cemetery, near Cheney.
The funeral for Mrs. Maria Anna Fornwalt, 79, Kingman, who died at the Kingman hospital Sunday after a long illness, was at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the Kingman church and at 2:30 o’clock at the Lerado church. Interment will be in the Lerado cemetery. Mrs. Fornwalt is survived by one so, Eby Fornwalt, of Hutchinson. Belmont, KS --- Mrs. Lilian Ravenstein, 79, died
Wednesday at Kingman Community Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1895, at Burrton, she was married to Henry Ravenstein, Jan.
31, 1925, at Wichita. He died in 11961. She was a retired school teacher.
She was a member of Kingman United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother: Wayne W. Forney, Des Moines, Iowa.

34, died Wednesday at Kingman Community Hospital. Born Aug. 26. 1940, at Kingman, he married Gayle Fairchild, Aug.
20, 1966, at Kingman. He was an employee of Don Dye Company and a life-time resident here.
He was a member of the Christian Church.
