Maher & Son dealer in Hardware, Stoves, Harness, Wagons, and Buggies are located in the Kennedy Block on No. Central street where they occupy a very large store space in a two story brick building, a 50 foot fron and 120 feet deep.

Space forbids our going into details concerning the immense stock carried by this firm, simply a category of which would half fill this work, for Maher & Son has one of the largest retail houses in their line. The stock represents the most perfect industrial attainments of the best manufacturing genius of America. Their store comprises many departments, each, a complete store in itself. In the hardward department is handled full lines of Shelf and Heavy Hardware, Builders Hardware, Imported and Domestic Cutlery. In the Implement department is carried a full and complete line of J. I. Case's celebrated Farm Implements and Studebaker make of Buggies and Farm Wagons in all the most desirable grades. The firm is also agents for the famous Acorn Wood and Coal Stoves and Ranges, and the "Reliable" gas heating and cooking Stoves known to the public and trade everywhere through this country as repsentating the latest and best scientific improvment in construction and operation, and embodying also the most advanced ideas in artistic patterns. In their harness department they do a general business as dealers in light and heavy Harness, Saddlery, Whips, Robes and Turf Goods of all kinds.

High standard Paints and Brushes are a feature of their immense stock.

Guns and Firearms of all kinds, the product of the best American and foreign makes, and a complete line of all kinds of ammunition forms a special and attractive feature to sportsman. The firm of Maher & Son succeeded the old and well known firm of Kennedy & Fowler years ago.
Mr. Edward Maher, the senior member of the firm is a native of Illinois, from which state he moved to Neosho County, Kansas in 1866, and located in farming at a time the present town site of Parsons was a prairie.

Mr. John Maher, the junior member of the firm is 32 years old, and was born and grew to manhood on the farm. He is a progressive and active young business man of sterling qualities. The firm of Maher & Son has a large and constantly increasing trade, the results of fair dealing and courteous treatment of their patrons.
