COUNTY HISTORY

Linn County was organized in 1855. It was named in honor of Lewis F. Linn, a senator from Missouri.

Mound City is the county seat; besides the cities listed below, other communities include Boicourt, Cadmus, Critzer, Dunlay, Farlinville, Goodrich, Mantey and Trading Post.
