Barrett School District #1, Barrett, Kansas, taken in August of 2007. The town of Barrett was located between Bigelow and Vermillion in Marshall County. The Missouri Pacific Railroad went through town.

Verlin had some Pickett cousins who went to school there, one of them being Mary Pickett Fairchild.
