To all whom it may concern:

Know ye That James Sitts, a private of Captain James P Rexford Company ('S') 8th Regiment of Mich Cas VOLUNTEERS, who was enrolled on the 3rd day of Aug one thousand eight hundred and sixty four to serve three years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United Sates this twenty-second day of September, 1865, at Nashville Tennessee by reason of (REALLY hard to read this part) Being mustered out in accordance with s.o. orders hd 2rs Dept. term Aug 31/65 (No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist)

Said James Sitts was born in blank in the State of Canada (yes, it really does say Canada), is 21 years of age, five feet eight inches high, light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a laborer.

Given at Nashville Tennessee, this twenty-second day of September, 1865.
