Our goal is helping you find your ancestors by placing data online for the Free use of all researchers.  We are proud to expand Kansas with Miami County, providing our "experience" gained from years of researching our ancestors and website hostingWe want to hear about you and the history of your ancestors from this beautiful State. We also need contributions of your data, history and stories to make this a great place to research.  Everything is helpful: Obituaries, Biographies, Photos and County History, to name a few.
  As data becomes available, we will put it online.  Information for the County of Miami will be posted as fast as we can find, type and/or receive it.  We welcome your feedback and comments, and of course, your data contributions.

Originally called Lykins County, it was organized in 1855. In 1861 the name was changed to Miami, after the Native American tribe.
Paola is the county seat; only a small portion of the town of Spring Hill is in Miami County; most of it lies in Johnson County.
