HARRY PAGE DEAN
Harry Page Dean, city clerk of Delphos, was born in Erie, Illinois, March 16, 1860, son of Henry Abner and Lucy
Jane (Duncan) Dean. Henry Abner Dean, a merchant, was born in Mount Morris, New York, October 4, 1834, came to
Topeka in 1886, and died at Delphos, October 20, 1912. Lucy Jane Duncan was born in North Port, Maine, July 23,
1839, and died at Galva, Illinois, in April, 1872.
Harry Page Dean was graduated from high school in the spring of 1876, and for a number of years engaged in farming.
For the past 20years he has been a director of the First National Bank of Delphos. He has filled various offices,
including those of county commissioner and township trustee, elected on the Republican ticket, and for the past
19 years has been city clerk.
On September 20, 1882, he was married to Anna May Reynolds at Minneapolis, Kansas. She was born in Winona, Wisconsin,
August 2, 1864, and died at Delphos, February 15, 1902. There are three children of this marriage, George Henry,
born July 20, 1883, who married Edith Klass; Corlis Page, November 12, 1887, who married Katherine McDonald; and
William Reynolds, October 4, 1892, who married Gladys Rice.
On April 14, 1903, Mr. Dean was married to Nannie Mall at Minneapolis, Kansas. Mrs. Dean has one daughter, Wilma
Estell Mall, born September 14, 1899, who has been adopted by Mr. Dean. She is married to Howard Barker. They have
one son, Melvin Arthur, born March 13, 1904, who married Maye Taylor.
Mr. Dean is a member of Lodge No. 202 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite Masons and Shrine,
the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Delphos Chamber of Commerce, and the Presbyterian Church.
