Harry Finley Jackman
Harry Finley Jackman, milling executive and legislator, was born in Cameron, Missouri, September 7, 1872, son of
Adam Clark and Amelia Wiltberger (Heyser) Jackman.
His father, a farmer and stockman, was born in Stark County, Ohio, August 24, 1845, and served with the 80th Ohio
Volunteers in the Civil War. His death occurred at Minneapolis, January 27, 1930. He came from the Virginia branch
of the Jackman family, two of whom served in the Continental Army. Amelia, his wife, was born in Hart County, Kentucky,
June 14, 1845, and died at Minneapolis, August 15, 1928.
Harry Finley Jackman attended public school and high school at Minneapolis until 1888. he has engaged in the milling
business since reaching maturity, and is now a partner in the firm of the Jackman Roller Mills Company.
A Republican, he was state representative from the 62nd district of Kansas two consecutive terms, 1929-31, and
in November, 1932, was re-elected. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Red Cross and the Masons (Blue
Lodge, master, district deputy grand master; Chapter, Consistory and Shrine). His favorite sport is golf.
On January 21, 1896, he was married to Myra Belle Parker at Minneapolis. Mrs. Jackman was born in Wales, Massachusetts,
December 20, 1869, and traces her ancestry to James Parker, who settled in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1640. His descendant,
James Parker, participated in the Battle of Lexington.
To Mr. and Mrs. Jackman three children were born, Ruth, November 16, 1896, who died November 25, 1929; Julia, October
5, 1903, who married Francis W. Bartlett, Jr.; and Harry Finley, Jr., August 18, 1909.

Johnson, Arthur Gust
Arthur Gust Johnson, farmer and stockman, was born in Minneapolis, Kansas, October 6, 1881, son of Andrew Gust
and Mary Charlotte (Johnson) Johnson. The father, born in Sweden, June 22, 1839, was a machinist and farmer, whose
death occurred at Minneapolis, Kansas, October 7, 1929. The mother was born in Sweden, May 20, 1849, and is still
living. She now resides at Minneapolis.
Arthur Gust Johnson attended public and high school at Minneapolis, and since reaching maturity has been a farmer,
and purebred Shorthorn cattle breeder. He is a Republican.
On May 26, 1909, he was married to Lydia May Staufer at Delphos, her birthplace. Mrs. Johnson, who is of German
and Swiss ancestry, was born August 3, 1883.
Mr. Johnson is a member of Delphos Lodge No. 202 of the Masons, the Lutheran Church, and the Red Cross. From
1928 until 1929, he was president of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau. He is fond of football, while his hobby is
calf club work.
