CHOLERA CEMETERY

This cemetery is located on private property 4 miles east of Wamego on U. S. 24, 3 miles north on Onaga Road, 1-1/2 miles west on Orgeon Trail Road and back in the field. Only stone remaining of about 50 or so '49ers who died from cholera at the Vermillion Creed crossing and were buried along the east bank of the Vermillion River.
