Post Chaplain at Fort Riley, died this morning at Fort Riley at Irwin Army Hospital of a stroke. Almond entered
the service in 1944 and came to Fort Riley in October 1960. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Almond, of the
home; one daughter, Mrs. Russell Armstrong, Santa Ana, Calif., and his parents, Rev. and Mrs. George Almond, Lance,
England. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City. (Manhattan,

ALQUIST, GENEVA
Miss Geneva Alquist, 82, Clay Center, died Thursday at the Clay Center Hospital. She had been hospitalized for
eight months, following a fall in her home. She was born September 13, 1882 in the Hayes Community. She was employed
at Coles in Manhattan for 14 years prior to 1931 when she moved to Clay Center. Survivors include a brother, Dr.
Lloyd Alquist, Clay Center. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. Burial was

Miss Myra Alsop, 99, died Thursday at Beatrice
Neb. Miss Alsop when a small girl came from England with the Wake Colony which settled in Wakefield. She taught
in the Wakefield area 30 years before moving to Beatrice. Funeral services will be Monday in the Mercer Funeral
Home, Wakefield and the burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Malcom Alsop, Manhattan is a nephew and Inez

Elwyn L. Alter, 77 died this morning at Memorial
Hospital. His home was at 1004 McCollum St. He was born November 5, 1886 at Lyons. He was a retired chief accountant
with the Farm Bureau here and was a resident of the community since 1938. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Olga Alter,
of the home, a daughter Mrs. Vivian Peterson, Wichita; two sons, Elwyn Alter Jr., Van Nuys, Calif., and Robert
D. Alter, Brussels, Belgium; and a sister, Mrs. Guy Miller, Lyons. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Courser

Miss Florence Alsop, died Saturday night in a Berkley
hospital. Miss Alsop received her masters degree from Kansas State University and had been teaching in Berkley
until her retirement several years ago. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Pastrone, and Mrs. Lila Bengard,
both of San Bruno, Calif., Mrs. Edith Noakes, Filley, Neb., and Miss Inez Alsop Manhattan. She is also survived
by one brother, Malcom, Manhattan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday in the Mercer Home in Wakefield. Burial

Carl Henry Alt, 72, Wamego, died yesterday in a
Wamego hospital. He was born October 2, 1896 in Overbrook. He was a retired farmer.

Oceola Amlong, 91, 1408 Laramie, died Friday evening
at the Wharton Manor. Mr. Amlong was born October 21, 1870 at West Liberty, Iowa. He was formerly an interior decorator
in Chicago, Ill., and had made Manhattan his home for the past four years. His wife, Lottie M. Amlong preceded
him in death in 1938. Mr. Amlong is survived by one daughter, Miss Martha Amlong of the home. The body will be

night at a Washington rest home. He was born August 19, 1878 in Sweden. Survivors include two brothers-in-law,

Mrs. John Amthauer, 74, died Monday in Memorial
Hospital. She has been in failing health for some time. She was born November 23, 1888 in Siddy. Mr. Amthauer dies

Mrs. Inez Hepler Anderson, a former resident of
Manhattan died Thursday in her home in Sarasota, Fla. April 12, 1970. Graveside services for Mrs. Inez H. Anderson,
78, will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. the by Hepler plot in Sunset Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson was born in Riley County
and graduated from Manhattan High School. She taught in Riley County Schools and was a Manhattan postal clerk prior
to her marriage in 1916. She was the daughter of William and Roxana Hepler. She lived in Wilmington, Del., until
moving to 3705 Duncan Place, Sarasota, Fla. nine years ago. Survivors include her husband, Algot B. Anderson, Sarasota,
two sons, Sidney D. Anderson, Ammandale, Va., William B. Anderson, Miami, Fla., a brother, John V. Hepler, Sarasota.

William Anderson, 86, former long time resident
of Norton died Friday at the St. Mary Hospital. He was born October 12, 1875 at Marshland, Pa., and lived in Gaines,
Pa., until 1911, when he moved to Norton County, Kansas. Mr. Anderson came to Manhattan with his daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frame, in 1958, and has resided with them at 2609 Carolyn Road since then. His wife preceded
him in death in August, 1956. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold Frame and Mrs. Gerald Elwood, Branson,
Mo.; a son, John Anderson, Pueblo, Colo.; five grandchildren; three half-sisters, Gaines, Pa., seven nieces and
four nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday in Norton at the Scott-Brantly Funeral Home. Burial was in the

will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Alert Covenant Church near Green with Rev. Clarence Mason officiating.
