PECHIN SERVICES SET FOR FRIDAY

Services for C. A. Pechin, 61, rural Augusta, Beech Aircraft Corp. foreman and longtime resident of Wichita, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. James Episcopal Church, Wichita. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gradens. He died Tuesday.

Born in Wichita, he lived here until a few months ago, when he moved to Augusta. He worked for Beech 34 years.

Survivors include his widow, Jeanette, and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Lowther, Wichita.

Cochran Mortuary has charge.

VAN AUSDELL, JOHN E.

Services for John E. Van Ausdell, 82, of 834 Nims, retired newsman, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in DeVorss-Rotz Mortuary. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He died Sunday in Troutdale, Ore.

Born in Jerseyville, Ill., he came to Wichita in 1913.

His wife, Maggie, died in 1969.

Survivors include his brother, L. C. Van Ausdell, Troutdale.

JORDON, DR. GILBERT F.

DOCTOR FOUND SHOT TO DEATH

The body of Dr. Gilbert F. Jordon, 42, a pediatrician of 2902 Sennett, was found Tuesday on the bathroom floor of a room at the HiWay Inn Motor Hotel, 3900 W. Kellogg.

Police said death was caused by a self-inflicted bullet wound in the chest. A 22-caliber revolver was found in the bathtub.

Dr. Jordon checked into the motor hotel shortly after 6 p.m. Monday, a motel employee said.

The body was found about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday by Clarence W. Wallace, a cook at the motel restaurant.

A note was found by police. It stated only that Dr. Jordon intended to take his life, police said.

The body was taken to Gordon Mortuary.

DR. GILBERT F. JORDON

Funeral services for Dr. Gilbert F. Jordon, 41, of 2902 Sennett, Wichita pediatrician who died Monday, a day before his 42nd birthday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Dr. Jordon, a Wichita resident 11 years, was found dead Tuesday in a bathroom of the HiWay Inn Motor Hotel, 3900 W. Kellogg. Police said he died of a self-inflicted 22-caliber gunshot wound.

Born Dec. 24, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., Dr. Jordon served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He moved to Wichita from Montgomery, Ala., in 1952.

The doctor was a member of the Unitarian Church, Sedgwick County Medical Society, state and national pediatric and medical societies and the Crestview Country Club.

Survivors include his widow, Phyllis, a son, Gilbert III, and two daughters, Kathleen and Janice, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert F. Jordon, Austin, Tex.; two brothers, James of Pensacola, Fla., and Charles, Houston, Tex.

Gordon Mortuary has charge.

CONKLIN, FRANK E.

Services for Frank E. Conklin, 76, of 417 N. Dodge, who died Tuesday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Broadway Mortuary. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

He was born Feb. 22, 1887, in Creston, Iowa, and had lived in Wichita since 1929.

He formerly was with the Sedgwick County engineering department.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William R. Birkes, 1744 Gold, and Mrs. Joe Heath, 2116 Fairhaven Drive; two sons, George F., 2237 Mead, and Marion H., 3307 S. Fern; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Cottingham, McCook, Neb., and Mrs. Stella Perkins, Miles City, Mont.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

MRS. MARY ERKER DIES

Well Known Resident of Mt. Hope Passes in Local Hospital

Mrs. Mary Erker, 35, Mt. Hope, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital.

She is survived by her husband, George, two daughters, Antoinette and Mary Lou, and seven sons, Edgar, Ervin, George, Jr., Justin, Lawrence, Paul and Francis, five days old, all of Mt. Hope.

The funeral will be at 9:30 Friday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church at St. Joseph. The body will be at the home of E. Hilger, St. Joseph, where a recitation of the rosary will be said at 8 o'clock Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Flanagan-Bourman mortuary is in charge.
