In the Name of God amen.

I, Rachal L. Spradling of the County of Adair and State of KY, calling to mind my advanced age and the uncertainty of life and being of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament in the following words. To wit,

1st, my will and desire is that all of my just debts and funeral expenses be paid first.

2nd, I then will my land that I bought from George W. Pickett to my sons Ambros M. Spradling and William N. Smith to be equally divided between them when they become 21 years of age. Sarah Smith is to hold said land and controls the same till said boys are 21 years old.

3rd, I then will my beloved son John R. Spradling the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in cash and my beloved sister-in-law Sarah Smith is to hold said sum of money and pay the same to my son John R. Spradling.

4th, I then will all the rest of my estate to Sarah Smith of all kinds whatever it may be.

5th, my will is that Sarah Smith shall assign all my papers and draw my money and hold the same for my use and benefit as long as I live, then she shall use the remainder for her own use and benefit.

The foregoing instrument of writing, purporting to be the true last will and testament of Rachal L. Spradling decd, was on the 7th day of May 1877 produced in open court and proved by the oaths of George W. Pickett and Elijah Smith, two of the subscribing witnesses there to, to be the true last will and testament of said decedent and the same is ordered to be recorded which is done accordingly.
