HON. GEORGE N. CUTCHIN
Member of the State legislature from Calloway County, of which he is a native, was born in 1851. His father,
William H. Cutchin, was born in North Carolina, removing to Calloway County, Kentucky, in early life, where he engaged in general
farming, with which he combined the honored and laborious work of pioneer school teacher. He died in the county in 1860. Catherine
L. (Martin) Cutchin is the mother ofHon. George N. Cutchin who is still a resident of Calloway County, She was born in Kentucky
and is the grand-daughter of Gen. William Green og Revolutionary fame.George is the fifth child out of nine born to these parents, and
was reared on the farm, to which industry he still devotes his attention. He received the benefits of his father's teaching, supplemented
by a course of study in the Murray Institute, obtaining a good English education. In August, 1883 he was elected by the people of
Calloway County to represent them in the lower house of the State legislature, a position which he now occupies with acceptance.
In 1879 he married Miss Sallie B. Curd, the daughter of Joel H. and Mary Curd, and to them have been born three children.
