Funeral services for Lester Wiley, 88, of 148 Wallace Ave., will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. He died 6:36 a.m. today at Bluegrass Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A native of Henry County, he was a retired farmer and a member of the North Benson Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Judge Wiley, Frankfort; a daughter, Beulah Franks, Frankfort; a step-daughter, Henrietta Morrill, Illinois; two brothers, Ben T. Wiley and Estill Wiley, both of Frankfort; a sister, Elizabeth Brown, Woodford County; a grandson and step-granddaughter. He was the son of the late Benjamin Thomas and Annie Page Wiley.
The Rev. Mike Hamrick will officiate. Bearers will be David Glen Wright, Jed Wiley, Lonnie Brown, Harold Hensley, Estill Wiley, Jr. and Chuck Sallee.

Harvey F. Johnson, 54, died Thursday morning at his home in Owen county. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Calla Johnson; a stepdaughter, Miss Geneva Webb, and several brothers and sisters, all of Morehead.

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Demaree, who passed away at her home in Shelby county Wednesday afternoon, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church, Rev. L. D. Stucker officiating. Interment will be in the Frankfort Cemetery.

Chief of Police Crawford Lee yesterday completed an investigation of the fatal shooting Wednesday of Garrett Vance. Chief Lee declared that in his opinion Vance died of a "self-inflicted bullet wound."
Chief Lee and his aides completed their investigation late yesterday afternoon and the chief informed newspaperman of the findings. The body of Vance was taken to Cynthiana, where funeral arrangements were to be completed.

Paul E. Hayes, 49, a Prestonsburg attorney and a well-known figure in Floyd County Democratic affairs, was killed Monday night when his car left Route 144 between Salyersville and Prestonsburg and overturned.
Hayes' wife, Lucy, 45, was taken to Prestonsburg General Hospital where she was reported to be in satisfactory condition this morning.
Hayes was a former state representative and ran for the offices of county attorney and circuit judge. He was active in the administration of former Governor's Edward Breathitt and Bert Combs.

Services for Marshall C. Blair, 47, of Route 3, who died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, will be conducted at Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Dan Crawley, pastor of the East Frankfort Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family lot, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Scott County. Bearers will be Charles Hardin, Wilbur Brown, Ben Hellard, Robin Mumford, Gary Brown and Ricky Carrier.

Services for Mrs. Katherine H. Moore, 84, of Frankfort will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Moore died 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Stagg Distillers. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Pat Smith, Bonifay, Fla., Mrs. Nancy Barbee, Kannapolis, N. C., and Mrs. Maxine Ray, Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Agnes Carrico, Owensboro; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Antun and Elizabeth Haller and the widow of Bernard B. Moore. Dr. Herman Bowers will officiate at the service. Bearers will be Bobby Moore, John Moore, Bill Moore, Jim Wilson, Charles Ray and Broadus Smith.

Services for George Washington Smith, 67, Route 9, Benson Valley Road, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. He died at his residence Sunday night following a sudden illness. Burial is in Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was a Woodford County native, a retired security guard for Kentucky State Police, an Army WW II veteran and member of the Choateville Christian Church. Survivors include a son, David R. Smith, Newport News, Virginia; a brother, John Smith, Frankfort; a sister, Mrs. Gracie Smith James, Mt. Sterling. He was the son of the late Harry Smith and Elizabeth Clark SMith; the Rev. Dale Parrish will officiate the services. Bearers will be Harrison Smith Jr., Terry Smith, William Smith, David Smith, Robert Smith, Harry Smith, Eddie Smith and Charles Pierce.

Shelbyville--Services for Pansy Semones Johnson, 82, of Franklin County, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Shannon Funeral Home. She died Wednesday at the United Medical Center in Shelbyville. Burial will be in the Bagdad Cemetery. She is survived by a son, Freeman Johnson of Frankfort, one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Brown, Shelbyville; one brother, Cecil Semones, of Frankfort, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Simpsonville--Funeral services for Charles Bowles, a former resident here, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. He died Monday at his home in St. Petersburg, Fla. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. Survivors include his wife, Ann Belle Maybrier Bowles, St. Petersburg; two daughters, Jo Anne Bemis, Shelbyville, and Mary Ellen Stout, formerly of Frankfort, now living in St. Petersburg; four granddaughters.

Services for John Crawford, 83, of Route 4, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. He died 2:10 a.m. Monday at Scott General Hospital in Georgetown following a long illness. A native of Franklin County, he was a retired farmed and attended Pleasant View Methodist Church. He was the son of the late John Crawford and Mary Kennedy Crawford. Survivors include his wife, Obie R. Crawford, Frankfort; a son, Terry Crawford, Frankfort, and a brother, Carl Crawford, Frankfort. Rev. Larry Redding will officiate at the services. Bearers will be Frank Montfort, Bill Rogers, Jimmy Stivers, Billy Ayers, Pat O'Connell and Ray Stivers.
