CHARLES J. SMITH DIES IN WASHINGTON
SEATTLE, Nov. 17. Charles J. Smith, 70, pioneer Washington and Oregon railroad official and Seattle
financier, died of heart trouble here last night after playing I8 holes of golf.
Mr. Smith was born at Nicholasville, Ky. Funeral services will be held here Monday, after which the body will be taken to Cincinnati for burial Tuesday. Submitted by a Friend of Free Genealogy

Mrs. Sallie A. Lee, widow of the late Melvin L. Lee, a Confederate veteran, died at her home on the Union Mill pike, after an illness of four months. Mrs. Lee was 76 years old. She is survived by the following children; Jefferson Lee, Douglas Lee and Mrs. T. L. Thomas of Jessamine county amd Mrs. Bettie Sharp of Fayette county, also three brothers, Robert and Charles Sageser of Jessamine county and John Sageser of Shelbyville. Funeral services were held at her home at 2 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Madison Combs and burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.    Submitted by Linda Dietz
