French Hough Thorpe, 76, of Stanton, Ky., formerly of Lima, died at 6:15 p.m. March 29, 1994, at the Stanton Nursing Center.
He was a native of Powell County, Ky., born to Sherman and Emma Bowman Thorpe. He married Gladys Spears, who survives.
Mr. Thorpe was retired from the former Clark Equipment Co., of Lima. He was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle of lima, the Mountain Parkway Church of God and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd of Grayson, Ky and Dan of Elida, Oh; a daughter Darlene of Stanton; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mountain Parkway Church of God. The Rev. Ben Corley will officiate. Burial will be in Thorpe cemetery on Hatton Creek. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Hearne Funeral Home in Stanton.

Maxine Rogers passed away on October 30 2011 in Cincinnati Ohio. She was related to
the Allen's that lived in Cat Creek Holler and was part of the Rogers family that
started Rogers Chapel. Frank and Lize Allen were her uncle and aunt on
her mothers side. Maxine Rogers was 89 years old when she died.

Mrs. Nancy Hodge
Mrs. Nancy Jane Hodge, 91, 2201 Saratoga Drive, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for one year.
Born Sept. 14, 1883, in Powell County, Ky., she was the daughter of Will and Rachel (Collins) Burgess. She was married in 1913 to James Robert Hodge, who preceded her in death in 1951.
She moved to Kokomo six years ago from Camden, Ohio.
Surviving are three sons, Shelby Jackson of Winchester, Ky., Levi Hodge of Springboro, Ohio and Oris Hodge of Mount Sterling, Ky.; three daughters, Mrs. Waverly Welch of Mount Sterling, Ky., Mrs. Willard (Sindyella) Van Cleve of Dillsboro and Mrs. Ray (Daisy) Burger of Kokomo; two step-sons, Burt Hodge of Kokomo and Ernest Hodge of Hartland, Mich.; three brothers, Clint, Everett and Frank Burgess, all of Winchester, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Pelfry of Middletown, Ohio; 22 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Four children, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Fenn Funeral Home,
with the Rev. James Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be
in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5
and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
